The DeSantis administration sued Biden arguing Biden violated federal law by ignoring the fact that current immigration law mandates that the government detain anyone crossing the border until it can determine if the individual has a right to be in the country.
There is an exception for a case-by-case basis of parole on humanitarian grounds.
Florida’s lawsuit argued the Biden administration disregarded the case-by-case basis for parole and mass-released illegal aliens into the country after apprehending them at the border.
Federal Judge T. Kent Wetherell agreed and slammed the Biden administration for essentially inviting illegal aliens to come to America.
Judge Wetherell said the Biden policy amounted to “little more than a speedbump for aliens flooding into the country by prioritizing ‘alternatives to detention’ over actual detention and by releasing more than a million aliens into the country—on ‘parole’ or pursuant to the exercise of ‘prosecutorial discretion’ under a wholly inapplicable statute—without even initiating removal proceedings.”
“Collectively, these actions were akin to posting a flashing ‘Come In, We’re Open’ sign on the southern border,” Judge Wetherell continued. “The unprecedented ‘surge’ of aliens that started arriving at the Southwest Border almost immediately after President Biden took office and that has continued unabated over the past two years was a predictable consequence of these actions.”
Florida General Ashley Moody praised Judge Wetherell’s ruling as upholding American sovereignty and putting a check on Joe Biden’s open borders agenda.
“Today’s ruling affirms what we have known all along, President Biden is responsible for the border crisis and his unlawful immigration policies make this country less safe,” Attorney General Moody stated. “A federal judge is now ordering Biden to follow the law, and his administration should immediately begin securing the border to protect the American people.”
The federal judiciary represents the most serious check on Joe Biden’s open borders agenda.
Without judges upholding the rule of law Joe Biden’s open borders would allow illegal aliens to overrun the border.
