Some people just can’t keep their mouths shut when decent folks are mourning.
One washed-up rock star decided to take a cheap shot at a recently departed legend.
And Roger Waters made one classless attack on Ozzy Osbourne that had Jack Osbourne seeing red.
Waters shows his true colors just weeks after Ozzy’s death
Here’s what happened, and the timing couldn’t be more disgusting.
Ozzy Osbourne – the Prince of Darkness himself – passed away on July 22 at age 76, surrounded by his family and loved ones who’d watched him battle Parkinson’s disease for years.
The man was a rock and roll icon who helped create heavy metal music with Black Sabbath back when Roger Waters was still figuring out how to be relevant.¹
But apparently that wasn’t enough to earn even basic respect from Waters.
Just weeks after Ozzy was laid to rest, the former Pink Floyd bassist decided to run his mouth in an interview with The Independent Ink, published August 12.
"I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did, I have no interest," Waters sneered. "I couldn’t care less."²
Wait, it gets worse.
Waters then took aim at Ozzy personally, saying the rock legend lived his life in "idiocy and nonsense" and dismissing him as nothing more than a TV personality.
"Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him, in his whatever that state that he was in his whole life. We’ll never know, we didn’t, you know?" Waters continued. "Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense."³
The sheer arrogance of this guy is breathtaking.
Jack Osbourne delivers the response Waters deserved
Jack Osbourne wasn’t about to let some bitter old man trash his father’s memory without consequences.
On September 2, Jack fired back on Instagram Stories with both barrels blazing.
"Hey @rogerwaters. F–k You. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become," Jack wrote. "The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bulls— in the press."⁴
But Jack wasn’t finished.
He delivered the knockout punch that probably stung Waters more than any professional critique ever could.
"My father always thought you were a c— – thanks for proving him right," Jack added with a clown emoji.⁵
Then he posted a second story with "#f—rogerwaters" just to make sure everyone got the message.

The Osbourne family keeps defending their father’s legacy
This isn’t the first time the Osbourne kids have had to step up and defend their dad’s memory from classless attacks.
Just a week earlier, Jack’s sister Kelly had to call out WWE star Becky Lynch for disrespecting their father during a wrestling broadcast in Birmingham – Ozzy’s hometown.
Lynch told the crowd "The only good thing that came outta here died a month ago," which had Kelly firing back on Instagram.⁶
"@beckylynchfanll, you are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire," Kelly wrote.⁷
The family buried Ozzy after a touching funeral procession through Birmingham where thousands of fans lined the streets to say goodbye to the metal legend.
But apparently some people missed the memo about showing basic human decency.

Meanwhile, you’ve got Jack and Kelly Osbourne showing more class in their angry responses than Waters showed in his calculated attack.
They’re defending their father’s legacy against bottom-feeders who think kicking a man when he’s down – or in this case, dead – somehow makes them look important.
The real story here isn’t about music or celebrity feuds.
It’s about what happens when people lose all sense of respect and timing in their desperate attempts to grab headlines.
Roger Waters just proved that being a rock legend doesn’t automatically make you a decent human being.
And Jack Osbourne just proved that sometimes the best response to a bully is to call them exactly what they are – pathetic and out of touch.
