RNC Launches TikTok Account After Trump Proved Democrats Wrong About Platform That Helped Him Win

Trump saved TikTok from a Democrat-backed ban and turned it into his secret weapon for reaching young voters.

Now the Republican National Committee is following his playbook with an official TikTok launch aimed at voters under 30.

The RNC just announced @Republicans is live on the platform – and they're telling every Republican candidate across America to get on board now that Trump made the app safe for conservatives.

Trump Turned Democrats' Security Threat Into Republican Victory Tool

Remember when Democrats wanted TikTok banned because China owned it?

Trump flipped that script completely.

He joined TikTok in June 2024 and gained 3 million followers in the first 24 hours.

The man went from calling it a security risk to crediting it with his landslide victory.

Trump told supporters last fall he became a fan after seeing how powerful the platform was for reaching voters who don't watch cable news.

His videos drew tens of millions of views while Harris struggled to match his reach.

The White House TikTok account launched in 2025 and now has 5 million followers with over 80 million likes.

Trump brokered the deal that made TikTok majority American-owned, putting it in the hands of what he called "Great American Patriots and Investors, the Biggest in the World."

Democrats spent years screaming about Chinese influence while their own party controlled what got recommended to users.

Democrats Held Three-To-One Advantage While Claiming Republicans Ignored Young Voters

Here's what the media won't tell you about TikTok before Trump got involved.

Back in 2022, Democrats were three times more likely to have TikTok accounts than Republicans during the midterms.

The Democratic National Committee had its own account and pushed every candidate to join while the RNC warned staff the app was Chinese spyware.

By 2024, 38% of Democrat candidates used TikTok compared to only 16% of Republicans.

They built that advantage while simultaneously trying to ban the platform – a classic have-it-both-ways Democrat move.

Research from January 2025 showed TikTok's algorithm actually skewed Republican during the 2024 election, giving GOP-aligned accounts nearly 12% more party-aligned content than Democrat accounts.

Trump saw through the whole game.

RNC Chair Says Platform Now Safe After Trump Saved It

RNC Chair Joe Gruters explained why Republicans are jumping in now.

Trump proved TikTok works and took decisive action to secure the platform for American users.

The new @Republicans account will deliver America First content directly to younger voters who get their news online instead of from legacy media.

Gruters is encouraging Republican candidates nationwide to follow Trump's lead now that the platform is safe.

This comes as Republicans fight to hold razor-thin majorities in both the House and Senate heading into 2026 midterms.

Pew Research shows 63% of Americans aged 18-29 use TikTok, making it essential territory for reaching the next generation of voters.

Trump's success with young voters helped Republicans win back the White House, Senate, and House in 2024.

Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA spent over $100 million mobilizing low-propensity young Trump voters in battleground states, and Trump credited TikTok as a major factor in that effort.

Trump improved with voters under 30 compared to any Republican presidential candidate since 2004, drawing even with Harris among young men.

Gruters told Fox News that Trump is Republicans' secret weapon heading into the midterms.

The President's unprecedented first-year agenda will pay huge dividends across the board for candidates at every level.

Democrats spent years building dominance on TikTok while trying to ban it, then watched Trump swoop in, save the platform, and turn it into a Republican weapon for 2026.
