Kamala Harris wants to avoid a scandal at all costs in the closing weeks of the election.

Her allies are willing to move heaven and earth to make that happen.

And Rand Paul exposed this awful cover-up intended to protect Kamala Harris from utter ruin.

Democrats hiding ticking bomb in Medicare from going off before the election

President Joe Biden used alleged prescription drug savings for seniors to help sell the wildly misnamed Inflation Reduction Act in 2022, which is a $1.2 trillion slush fund for Green New Deal policies.

The bill put a $2,000 price cap on what seniors pay out of pocket under Medicare Part D for prescriptions.

Democrats treated this as a massive win at the time, but they set in place a ticking bomb.

Insurers were prepared to hike the premiums of Medicare Part D by as much as 55% to cover the costs they absorbed from the Inflation Reduction Act’s price caps.

Medicare Part D premiums were set to spike in September and October when open enrollment began.

That was a five-alarm political fire for Vice President Kamala Harris in an election year.

So the Biden-Harris administration stole $10 billion from the Medicare Trust Fund to hide the costs for this year by subsidizing premium increases.

Rand Paul demands investigation of Medicare premium scandal

U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) wrote a letter to the Justice Department Chief of the Public Integrity Section Corey Amundson asking for an investigation into the Medicare premium scandal for a Hatch Act violation.

The Hatch Act prevents political activity on the job by most employees of the federal government.

“My colleagues and I are concerned that the Biden-Harris Administration is inappropriately using taxpayer funds to mask the defective Medicare Part D policies enacted as part of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 (P.L. 117-169),” Paul wrote.

“Given the IRA’s central role in the Biden-Harris Administration’s presidential campaign, these concerns warrant additional investigation,” Paul added.

Paul pointed out that Medicare Part D premiums increased in 2023, the first year the Inflation Reduction Act price caps were in place.

“Additionally, Medicare Part D premiums were expected to rise even higher this year when open enrollment begins in October,” Paul stated. “Yet, the Biden-Harris Administration very deliberately initiated a demonstration program to address rising costs for seniors only in an election year.”

Kamala and Democrats running for re-election in the House and Senate this year have the Inflation Reduction Act’s alleged prescription drug savings a centerpiece of their campaigns.

But it’s all a lie.

“Kamala Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which is now driving up seniors’ health care premiums. Americans deserve to know if Biden and Harris are now illegally handing taxpayer funds to insurance companies in order to hide those premium increases right as seniors head to vote,” Paul wrote on X.

Kamala Harris couldn’t afford to have seniors getting angry after getting sticker shock on their premiums right before they head to the polls.

So the Biden-Harris administration gambled that it could get away with illegally raiding the Medicare Trust Fund and figuring the rest out later.
