The United States’ border has been the weakest it’s been in recent history. As one report from the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations states “since January 2021, U.S. law enforcement has encountered over 2.6 million migrants trying to enter the United States illegally.”
The cost of illegal immigration is a massive burden to United States taxpayers. As the Federation for American Immigration Reform reports that “illegal immigrants who have entered the U.S. since Jan. 2021 will add an extra $20.4 billion burden a year, in addition to the $140 billion existing illegal immigrants already cost.”
