When the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights organized 130-plus organizations to fight the SAVE Act, they published every name.
Right there, sandwiched between labor unions, far-left political groups, and open-borders advocates – was Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
America's largest abortion chain.
Fighting a voter ID bill.
Let that settle for a moment.
The SAVE Act does one thing: it requires Americans to show proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
A passport.
A birth certificate.
A military ID.
The same documents you'd need to board a plane, open a bank account, or pick up a prescription.
Planned Parenthood's business is killing preborn babies – over 400,000 of them every single year, according to their own annual report.
What exactly does that have to do with voter registration?
Planned Parenthood, SEIU, and the ACLU Walk Into a Voter ID Fight
The group fighting the SAVE Act isn't a collection of concerned citizens.
It's a unified left-wing machine – and the member list reads like a who's-who of the organizations working to dismantle conservative America at every level.
SEIU, the powerful government employees' union, is in there.
So is AFSCME and the AFT – union giants that pour hundreds of millions of dollars into Democratic campaigns each cycle.
MomsRising.
NARAL successor Reproductive Freedom for All.
The ACLU.
The Southern Poverty Law Center.
And Planned Parenthood.
All fighting together.
Against proving you're a citizen before you vote.
Speaker Mike Johnson put it plainly after the SAVE America Act passed the House in February: "Election integrity is not optional."
The bill passed 218-213 – and it now awaits a Senate vote.
Why a Defunded Planned Parenthood Is Desperate to Stop the SAVE Act
Here's what the mainstream media won't explain.
Planned Parenthood was defunded in July 2025, when President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law.
Their lawsuit to reverse it was dismissed in January 2026.
Planned Parenthood is, for the first time in decades, fighting for its political survival.
And their survival strategy is simple: elect as many Democrats as possible.
One Planned Parenthood affiliate put it in writing – the organization is "strategically working to unseat anti-abortion elected officials in the 2026 midterm elections."
To Planned Parenthood, the SAVE Act is an existential threat – not because they care about election law, but because they need maximum Democratic turnout to survive the next election cycle.
This explains why an abortion giant is fighting a voter ID bill.
Every fight is the same fight.
Every issue runs through the same machine – and that machine has one goal: power.
The SAVE America Act Heads to the Senate — Here's What's at Stake
The SAVE America Act passed the House on February 11, 2026.
It now heads to a Senate vote that could come as early as next week.
The same coalition that brought Planned Parenthood, SEIU, the ACLU, and the Southern Poverty Law Center together to fight it is already flooding Senate offices with pressure.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune has been deluged with demands from conservatives to bring it to the floor.
Americans overwhelmingly support voter ID – Gallup data shows over 80 percent in favor.
The only question is whether Senate Republicans will hold the line against a unified left-wing machine that has made this fight personal.
Planned Parenthood's presence in that coalition just made the stakes impossible to miss.
They aren't fighting for democracy.
They're fighting for their own survival.
