Pirates of the Caribbean Producer Jerry Bruckheimer just made a decision about Johnny Depp that will sink the franchise for good

There have been five Pirates of the Caribbean movies, all of them wildly successful.

And all of them with Johnny Depp in the starring role as the indomitable Captain Jack Sparrow.

But Pirates of the Caribbean Producer Jerry Bruckheimer just said the one thing about Johnny Depp that could sink the franchise for good.

You would think the smart money in Hollywood was actually watching the Johnny Depp/Amanda Heard trial.

As Chris Rock said, “Believe all women . . . except Amber Heard.”

And as the trial goes on, that seems to be more and more the line of thought that most astute legal observers have.

It appears the more Amber Heard talks, the less anyone believes her.

But that isn’t stopping legendary Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced all five of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, from weighing in, and weighing in on the side of “woke.”

Bruckheimer, according to multiple reports, has now made his decision about actor Johnny Depp continuing to appear in the franchise.

Depp, of course, is currently suing his ex-wife, troubled actress Amber Heard for defamation over her 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post.

In that scathing article, Heard described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Though she didn’t name Depp in the article, he claims it cost him acting roles, including possibly a potential appearance in a sixth Pirates film.

And it would appear Depp was right.

Though the actor has portrayed Jack Sparrow in all five movies, Bruckheimer has now finally discussed openly whether Depp will be returning.

“Not at this point,” Bruckheimer said. Though he added, “The future is yet to be decided.”

The producer then confirmed that while he has no plans to bring Depp back for a sixth movie, he is working on a sequel.

And not only will Depp not play the lead but to show just how “woke” he is, Bruckheimer is potentially replacing Depp with a female lead.

“We’re talking to Margot Robbie,” he said. “We are developing two Pirates scripts — one with her, one without.”

The last film was 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

While it has already been five years since the last Pirates movie, there is no doubt a sixth would fare well, with Depp playing the lead of course.

Because when it comes right down to it, there is no Pirates of the Caribbean franchise without Jack Sparrow.

And as long as he’s alive and able to act, there isn’t a Jack Sparrow without Johnny Depp.

There certainly isn’t either with a female lead.
