The Democrats have become a radical party.
Polls show that Joe Biden and the Democrats are losing the faith of the American people.
And one shocking report proves Democrats have police officers’ blood on their hands.
The Democrats are no longer a moderate party.
Their over-the-top hateful rhetoric aimed at police officers has defined much of the last several years.
They pushed the “defund the police” movement, then backtracked after voters were scared off.
One of the consequences of demonizing the police and egging on violent anti-police protests was more attacks on police officers.
And according to the FBI, the increase in violence against police is staggering.
During a 60 Minutes interview, FBI Director Christopher Wray said, “Some of it is tied to the violent crime problem as a whole. But one of the phenomena that we saw in the last year is that an alarming percentage of the 73 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty last year were killed through things like being ambushed – or shot while out on patrol . . . They were killed because they were police officers . . . Wearing the badge shouldn’t make you a target.”
In 2020, the U.S. murder rate increased 30%, the highest single-year percentage jump in American history.
Unfortunately, the trend has not reversed in any significant way.
And the rising crime, due in large part to progressive pro-crime policies and rhetoric, has put more police officers at risk.
The National Fraternal Order of Police wrote in a chilling report, “[A]s of 1 April, there have been 101 officers shot in the line of duty so far in 2022 (+46% from 2021 YTD; +63% from 2020 YTD). Of those officers shot, 17 of them were killed by gunfire…There have been 19 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year (+36% from 2021 YTD). These ambush-style attacks have resulted in 32 officers shot, 5 of whom were killed by gunfire.”
Instead of addressing the rising crime, Democrats are more concerned with bail reform, diversion programs, and turning a blind eye to open-air drug markets that fuel crime and lawlessness.
Bail reform in New York City has been a disaster, and diversion programs for multiple-time felons are clearly a joke.
And somehow leftists have decided that it’s “compassionate” to let people live in squalor on the street and buy and use drugs.
All of these pro-crime policies are making the country less safe for everyone, including the police.
