One Democrat candidate for Governor is even more of a clown than you thought

The Midterms are rapidly approaching and races are beginning to tighten.

Republican candidates that the Left dismissed are gaining ground.

And one Democrat candidate for Governor is even more of a clown than you thought.

The race for Governor of Arizona is heating up.

After a fractious Republican primary, Kari Lake emerged victorious over establishment-backed candidate Karrin Taylor Robson.

Now Lake is facing off against far-left Democrat Katie Hobbs.

Hobbs refuses to debate Lake, which even surprised NBC’s Chuck Todd.

During a sit-down interview, Todd asked, “Why not go one on one? I want to get this process out of the way. I understand her experience doing this. Look, I get that. But sometimes those are the breaks, why not debate her one on one?”

Hobbs responded, “Look, there is nothing I would like more than a substantive debate on the issues and an opportunity to contrast the robust policy positions that my campaign has put out versus Kari Lake’s lack of any position on anything or plans or solutions. And we are still talking to the debate organizers about how to make that work. But Kari Lake is a spectacle. And she made a spectacle during the GOP primary debate. And they so far haven’t proposed a format that’s going to change that. And it put Arizona as the butt of national jokes and I don’t want to participate in that.”

Hobbs’ stance on debating Lake isn’t even as bad as her plan for education.

Hobbs is fighting hard against school vouchers, even though she herself graduated from private school.

Democrats extol the virtues of public education, but many in the government would not dare send their children to a public school.

And if they did, it would be in a posh neighborhood where low-income kids would be limited in attending because of a lack of school choice.

Hobbs said, “Too often, Republicans have completely disregarded public opinion in an effort to defund our public schools. At every turn, they have moved to expand school vouchers without common-sense measures of accountability, with the clear intent to eventually do away with our local public schools . . . Vouchers should not have been expanded to provide an unaccountable means of enriching private schools and defunding our local public schools.”

This is complete nonsense.

With vouchers, the funding follows the student so no schools are being deprived of anything.

What Hobbs really means is that teachers unions are weakened by vouchers.

Democrats are completely beholden to the teachers unions, and vice versa.

The entities combined have a near monopoly on education, and they do not want to relinquish it.

If the unions were so concerned about the well-being of the students, they wouldn’t have been fighting to keep schools closed during COVID.

Hobbs doesn’t care about the students.

She cares about the unions.
