Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is one of three Republicans currently running for President.
But polls show RINO Haley is not gaining much traction.
And now Nikki Haley picked a fight with Ron DeSantis that instantly blew up in her face.
The first major point of debate in the GOP Presidential Primary centered on Joe Biden’s proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
Tucker Carlson kicked off the discussion by asking six top Republican contenders for answers to a series of questions about their position on Ukraine.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dominated the conversation with his answer explaining his view that the war in Ukraine was not a vital national security interest for the United States.
DeSantis also called the conflict a territorial dispute that served as a distraction from America’s true foreign policy challenges such as confronting the rise of Communist China.
“While the U.S. has many vital national interests – securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party – becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them,” DeSantis stated.
DeSantis also opposed sending the Ukrainians F-16 fighters and long-range missiles, which could be used to strike targets inside Russia, as DeSantis warned that would bring the United States into direct conflict with Russia.
The answers to Carlson’s questions put DeSantis more aligned with Donald Trump and the conservative base.
Polls show Republican support for Ukraine declining as it became clear Joe Biden got America involved in another endless war, but this time the downside could lead to civilization-ending nuclear war.
Nikki Haley is running to be the establishment alternative to Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis.
The one policy area Haley’s been willing to speak out against Trump and DeSantis is on Ukraine.
Haley released a statement attacking DeSantis for his answers to Tucker Carlson’s questions claiming DeSantis was just a copy of Trump.
“President Trump is right when he says Governor DeSantis is copying him — first in his style, then on entitlement reform, and now on Ukraine. I have a different style than President Trump, and while I agree with him on most policies, I do not on those,” Haley wrote.
“Republicans deserve a choice, not an echo,” Haley added.
Nikki Haley aligning herself with and echoing the warmongering Liz Cheney/Mitt Romney/Adam Kinzinger-wing of the party on Ukraine is not paying off any dividends in the polls
A new CNN poll found DeSantis leading Trump 39 to 37 percent with Haley garnering just seven percent among registered voters.
The GOP has no appetite for picking a candidate who wants to take the party backwards to 2005, which is exactly what Haley wants to do with her militaristic foreign policy.
