Democrats are in damage control mode over Kamala Harris’ disastrous decision to name Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

The pick immediately backfired.

And Nancy Pelosi tried to hide this dark secret about Tim Walz.

Nancy Pelosi tries to cover up for Tim Walz’s stolen valor scandal

Tim Walz’s false claims of serving in Afghanistan and retiring from the Minnesota National Guard may be the worst scandal ever to befall a running mate selection.

In addition to stolen valor, Walz faced allegations from the men he served with that he quit the guard because his battalion was set to deploy to Iraq.

Nancy Pelosi went on Jen Psaki’s show and tried to claim the entire scandal was a figment of the Republican Party’s imagination.

“He was– he served for 24 years in the National Guard. He was the highest enlisted member of Congress. I had been the highest ranking enlisted member of Congress when he was in Congress, and did an enormous amount on the Veterans Affairs Committee. What do you say to these efforts to to attack his military record?” Psaki asked Pelosi.

Pelosi then proceeded to accurately describe Walz’s service in the Minnesota National Guard.

“Well, first of all, it’s a sign of the bankruptcy of their ideas. They have anything to say so they make up things. So first of all, he was in the National Guard 20 years. But then 9/11 happened. So he signed up for four more years. He retired from that to run for Congress months before his unit was assigned to being deployed,” Pelosi stated.

Nancy Pelosi strays into nonsense

If Tim Walz described his service in the manner Pelosi did, there wouldn’t be a scandal engulfing the ticket because no one has an issue with Tim Walz’s service.

The problem for Walz is that he didn’t stick to that biography.

Walz’s problem is that he lied about service and gave the impression he served in combat when he never did and misrepresented his rank.

But to try and run cover for Walz, Pelosi implied that Republicans manufactured a scandal out of whole cloth.

“So it was after he left. So they’re just trying to confuse things. But he came to Congress and was respected by our colleagues, elected to be the top Democrat on the Veterans Affairs Committee, where he and working with Chad Edwards on the Appropriations Committee and he on the authorizing committee made historic advances for veterans meeting their needs more than had been done since the GI Bill during World War II,” Pelosi added.

So far, the Harris campaign only issued a press release claiming Walz misspoke.

The campaign only communicates to the media through press releases from anonymous aides because they don’t want to put Harris in front of the cameras without a script because of her shambolic speaking style.
