Democrats keep proving that they are the party of lawlessness.

Liberals expect to benefit from a two-tiered system of justice.

And Nancy Pelosi broke the law with this boneheaded move.

Nancy Pelosi puts libraries charitable status in danger

Nancy Pelosi’s appearance at the Central Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore to promote her book, The Art of Power, turned into a national scandal.

The Baltimore Sun reported that Pelosi “ended up holding what amounted to a campaign rally for Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.”

Pelosi also endorsed Kamala Harris for President.

“Kamala Harris should be elected President of the United States because she is the best person for the job,” The Sun reported Pelosi telling the crowd.

This became a major issue because Central Enoch Pratt Free Library is classified as a 501c(3) charity by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

501c(3)s operate under strict rules that prevent them from engaging in any political behavior or else they could lose their tax-exempt status.

“Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes,” the IRS’ website reads.

Pelosi even seemed to understand that she stepped on a rake by endorsing Harris at the library.

“I didn’t know we could talk politics,” The Sun reported Pelosi stating.

“I think we’re talking civics here right now, right?” Pelosi asked, trying to toe the line.

Congressman calls out Pelosi

Congressman Andy Harris (R-MD) posted on social media, wondering if the library should lose its tax-exempt status for allowing Pelosi to use the premises to stage a pep rally for Kamala Harris.

“Why is Nancy Pelosi campaigning for presidential candidates at a nonprofit organization such as the Pratt Free Library in Baltimore?” Harris wrote on X.

“There is supposed to be an IRS regulation that prohibits nonprofit organizations from engaging in elections. What is the Pratt Library’s tax-exempt status?” Harris added.

Harris also wrote a letter to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) asking for an update on the status of the library’s tax-exempt status.

“Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi visited the Pratt library for what was described as a book tour, but what ended up being a campaign rally for Vice President Kamala Harris,” Harris wrote.

Harris laid out the case that Pelosi and the library violated IRS regulations with the Kamala Harris endorsement.

“Endorsing and campaigning for presidential candidates at nonprofit organizations is prohibited

activity and as a public official and a nonprofit organization, both Nancy Pelosi and the Pratt Library should know that,” Harris added

“As a result of this campaign activity, I am requesting an update on the current tax-exempt status of the Central Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, Maryland,” Harris continued.

Had a conservative endorsed Donald Trump on the grounds of a 501c(3), the IRS would have come down on them like a ton of bricks.

But Pelosi can flout the rules all she likes with the safety of knowing that the weaponized government will protect its allies just as much as it targets its opponents.
