The 2024 Election is shaping up to be one of the wildest races in history.
Voters could be getting another major surprise.
And Mike Rowe was given one offer to enter the 2024 Election he never expected.
Independent Presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., vetted a variety of unconventional candidates to become his running mate.
The New York Times recently reported that the New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and former Minnesota Governor, Jesse Ventura were top potential picks for him.
But another wildcard pick was approached by Kennedy about joining him.
Mike Rowe reveals he was asked about joining the Kennedy ticket
Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe confirmed that Kennedy approached him about becoming his Vice President during an interview with CNN host Erin Burnett.
“Yeah, he called. Actually, I ran into him about six months ago in Dallas, totally serendipitously, and we exchanged information and he reached out about a month ago,” Rowe said.
Rowe said that he met with Kennedy about his foundation, mikeroweWORKS, which promotes skilled labor as a career path for students.
“At some point, he asked me if I would ever consider running for public office, and I spit my coffee back into my cup and I said, ‘Seriously?’” Rowe said.
He added that the pair had a “serious conversation,” which he described as “gratifying.”
Rowe didn’t tip his hand if he took Kennedy up on the offer to become his running mate.
Kennedy told him “You should consider it.”
Rowe weighs in on Aaron Rodgers running for office
When Aaron Rodgers’ name was mentioned as a potential running mate for Kennedy the media was hysterical.
The Jets quarterback has been frequently attacked by the media for refusing to get vaccinated and jabbing Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for being a spokesman for Pfizer.
Rowe was asked about Rodgers being connected to the Kennedy search and his various controversies.
“I think he [Rodgers] has a right to articulate whatever he wants,” Rowe told CNN. “And we have a right to respond however we want. I have no idea what the man actually said . . . I don’t know what qualifies or disqualifies a person running for anything.”
“You could probably find stupid stuff that anybody said, but what really qualifies a man or a woman to run for President or Vice President? I think you got to be 35. I think you have to be born in this country.” Rowe continued. “After that I don’t know about qualifications . . . Personally, I stopped watching football after the Colts left Baltimore and so I don’t know how much use I can be on that.”
CNN was hoping that Mike Rowe would bash Rodgers but he stayed about the fray.
