Pence Hands the Left Their Talking Points
Sitting across from Kristen Welker on Meet the Press, Pence called Trump's $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund "deeply offensive" and demanded the administration drop it entirely.
Not reform it.
Not add safeguards.
Drop it.
His reasoning?
The fund could – theoretically, possibly – compensate some January 6 defendants he doesn't like.

Never mind that the fund exists because the Biden DOJ actually did weaponize the federal government.
Never mind that a pro-life father was raided by a SWAT team for praying outside an abortion clinic.
Never mind that Trump supporters were surveilled, prosecuted, and financially destroyed for their politics.
Pence's answer to all of it is to kill the only systematic remedy Trump has created – because it might help people Pence personally looks down on.
The Fund Mitch McConnell and John Thune Won't Defend
Pence isn't alone in his opposition.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune admitted he wasn't consulted on the fund and said it "would have been nice" if he had been.
Mitch McConnell went further, calling it a "slush fund to pay people who assault cops."
That's the same Mitch McConnell who never once called Biden's FBI raids on Trump allies "deeply offensive."
The same John Thune who watched Democrats prosecute hundreds of January 6 defendants under charges that the Supreme Court later ruled had been systematically misapplied – and said nothing.

Now they're both lined up on NBC, CNN, and Meet the Press to declare that Trump's attempt to address that injustice is the real scandal.
Two federal judges – both Democrat appointees – temporarily froze the fund last Friday.
A group of 35 former federal judges called the Trump-IRS settlement that created the fund "a fraud on the court."
The establishment, the courts, and the old guard of the Republican Party are all working together to strangle the one fund designed to give Americans who survived Biden-era lawfare a fighting chance.
Why Pence Is Wrong and Trump Is Right
Here is what actually happened.
Biden's FBI raided the homes of Trump supporters at dawn – guns drawn, cameras rolling – for the crime of being in Washington on the wrong day.
Prosecutors charged protesters with obstruction who had no violent conduct whatsoever.
The Supreme Court later ruled in Fischer v. United States that the obstruction charge had been systematically misapplied – invalidating sentences handed to hundreds of defendants who never touched a cop, never broke a window, and never did anything that would have earned a second glance in any other American city on any other American day.
That is what weaponization looks like.

Pence's answer – kill the whole fund because a violent offender might slip through – punishes the innocent to spite the guilty.
Trump built a process to fight back.
This Is Who Pence Has Always Been
Pence cited the pro-life family settlement as proof that the existing DOJ system works just fine.
That family got their seven-figure settlement because Trump is president and Trump's DOJ pursued it.
Under Biden, they were the target.
Pence's logic is: trust the system that raided them to also fix what it did to them.
Pence spent four years as Vice President watching the deep state operate – and his response to the Biden DOJ's assault on conservative Americans is to go on NBC and hand the Left their talking points.
The pro-life father who got raided is still owed a full accounting.
Mike Pence just told him the fund that could have delivered it is offensive.
