Merrick Garland just dropped the hammer on police officers for one unbelievable reason

Joe Biden’s administration doesn’t care at all about the rule of law.

He has weaponized the FBI for political reasons.

Now Merrick Garland just dropped the hammer on police officers for one unbelievable reason.

The Left have made much political hay from the death of Louisville resident Breonna Taylor.

Her case became a Democratic rallying cry after she was shot by police officers during a nighttime raid.

The police executed a “knock and announce” raid at her address when her boyfriend Kenneth Walker opened fire on police, believing they may have been drug dealers.

Taylor’s apartment had been used as a known drop spot for drugs and cash based on surveillance and jailhouse recordings.

Louisville police returned fire, killing Taylor; Walker was unharmed.

The story became a national news story first based on the lie that the police raided the wrong house, then on the falsehood that the police executed a “no-knock” raid.

The officers were cleared of murder charges, which enflamed the Left.

But now the Department of Justice is swooping in to charge four of the officers with violating Taylor’s civil rights.

Murder is a state crime, so the feds cannot go after them for that, but they can still stitch them up with a political prosecution.

And the feds almost always win when they go to court.

Merrick Garland said during a press conference, “The federal charges announced today allege that members of a Police Investigations Unit falsified the affidavit used to obtain the search warrant of Ms. Taylor’s home and that this act violated federal civil rights laws, and that those violations resulted in Ms. Taylor’s death…We share, but we cannot fully imagine, the grief felt by Breanna Taylor’s loved ones and all of those affected by the events of March 13, 2020. Breonna Taylor should be alive today.”

Ironically, it was the FBI that falsified a warrant application to the FISA court in order to surveil the Trump campaign.

Officer John Mattingly—who was shot by Walker during the raid and wrote the book 12 Seconds in the Dark about his experience—called the arrest of the Louisville officers “political theater.”

Mattingly said the officers had been cooperating.

Everyone understands that this is a political prosecution.

Just like parents being investigated as terrorists for showing up to schoolboard meetings, once again, the FBI is being used as a cudgel for political reasons.
