Mel Gibson made his name in Hollywood as a leading man and Oscar-winning director.
Like his peers, Gibson got involved in the Presidential race.
And Mel Gibson made this huge 2024 election endorsement announcement.
Mel Gibson endorses Donald Trump
Mel Gibson is one of the few openly religious icons in Hollywood.
Gibson is a strict Catholic who helmed the 2004 blockbuster film The Passion of the Christ which raked in $612 million on a $30 million budget proving there was a market for films targeted to Americans that held traditional values.
Gibson was also the star of the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon film series and won an Academy Award for Best Director for 1995’s Braveheart.
Actors love to brandish their liberal politics.
Gibson bucked the trend.
TMZ caught up with Gibson at the airport and asked who he was voting for.
Gibson – who helped make The Sound of Freedom a hit film by promoting it on social media – tried to brush off the question.
“I don’t think it’s going to surprise anyone who I vote for,” Gibson stated.
“I’m gonna guess Trump. Is that a bad guess?” the person filming the encounter asked.
Gibson responded with sarcasm.
“I think that’s a pretty good guess,” Gibson shot back.
Gibson then elaborated on why he was supporting Trump saying Kamala Harris’ failed record on the border, inflation, and foreign policy showed she was unqualified for the job as President.
“I know what it’ll be like if we let her in. And that ain’t good. Miserable track record. No policies to speak of. She’s got the IQ of a fence post,” Gibson declared.
A change from 2016 and 2020
The last two times Donald Trump ran for President there was a social stigma about supporting him in public.
That’s because the Left controlled all the major cultural, financial, and political institutions in America.
Professing support for Trump risked getting cast out of polite society.
That’s not the case in 2024.
A Fox News poll shows 79 percent of Americans think the country is heading down the wrong track.
Biden and Kamala Harris opened the border to more than 10,000,000 illegal aliens, caused inflation to spike to the highest levels in 40 years, and are threatening to sleepwalk America into a nuclear war with Russia over Ukraine.
Donald Trump was President for four years and Americans saw that Trump at the helm resulted in low inflation, a booming economy, a secure border, and no new wars.
That’s why polls show Donald Trump is more popular today than in either of his previous two Presidential runs.
But in addition to Gibson, actor Zachary Levi, Eon Musk, Bill Ackman, and Hulk Hogan are among the prominent Americans who are openly supporting Trump who didn’t do so in either of his previous two runs for President.
