After bodycam footage showed that Tyre Nichols was brutally beaten to death by five police officers in Memphis, the Left went to work politicizing the tragedy.
They didn’t let the fact that Nichols and the officers who beat him were all black stop them from using it to launch another war on the police.
The harpies on The View joined in the latest media-driven hysteria over the police and racism.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg took things to another level when she suggested that white people needed to get beaten by the police.
“Clearly, it doesn’t matter if it’s a white policeman or a black policeman, it is a problem in the policing itself,” Goldberg said. “Seems things don’t seem to make sense to people unless it’s somebody they can feel, or they can recognize. Do we need to see white people also get beaten before anybody will do anything? I’m not suggesting that, so don’t write us and tell me what a — you know, what a racist I am.”
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly took Goldberg to task for her insane comments about the police needing to beat white people on her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show.
“The media coverage of this case has gone away awfully quickly,” Kelly explained. “There is nothing close to what we saw after George Floyd, even though the beating was even more brutal. […] You’d think there’d be outrage that would be ongoing, but no, because it doesn’t have the very sexy race angle that the Left loves to play out and put on loop.”
After it was revealed that the officers who beat Nichols were all back, the story began to fizzle out in the media.
Some liberal commentators grasped at straws trying to claim that the black police officers beating a black man was an example of white supremacy.
“But that hasn’t stopped people like Whoopi Goldberg . . . from making a typically inane comment about this case and our country,” Kelly said as she played a clip of Goldberg’s tirade about white people getting beaten by the cops.
“It’s not that you [Goldberg] are a racist, it’s that you’re dumb,” Kelly said. “That’s your problem.”
“You’re uninformed just like the rest of your colleagues on your set,” Kelly added. “Whites have a much higher chance of being killed by cops than blacks do.”
Statistics reveal that the police kill white suspects at a rate roughly double that of the black ones.
“The fact that she doesn’t know that is a result of the fact that she actually doesn’t either care to go find the facts, or she just consumes the wrong media,” Kelly said. “So, she’s got her head in the . . . I’ll say the clouds.”
