The media reckoning and the 2024 election
Megyn Kelly had harsh words for the media in an appearance on fitness influencer and former The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels podcast.
Michaels asked Kelly if it was time to show grace to the Left now that the election was over and Trump won a decisive victory.
Kelly strenuously disagreed and said there were some on the Left who deserved nothing but scorn, citing Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski trying to make nice with Trump after the election.
“That’s a dishonest, bad actor whose voice should be excised from the conversation, not propped up, not listened to, not made easier or more robust by access to the now sitting president or about to be. No, nothing good is gained by Trump and Joe Scarborough having to come to Jesus. The only point in Scarborough doing it is his ratings are in the toilet,” Kelly stated.
The last eight years – Kelly explained – radicalized her as she watched the Democrat Party and members of the press, such as Joe and Mika lie about Donald Trump with the Russia collusion hoax and false claims about Trump being a fascist and the next Adolf Hitler.
Kelly told Michaels that she didn’t hold these feelings out of malice for all Democrats and revealed that she came from a family of Democrats.
“I was surrounded by all Democrats. Most of my friends to this day are mostly Democrats. So I have a lot of love in my heart for Democrats,” Kelly remarked.
“It’s not that I hate Democrats or I hate people who are on the left or who disagree with me politically. No, my mom’s a Democrat. People who I love more than anything are Democrats,” Kelly added.
Kelly explained that it was the media and Democrat Party elite she felt contempt for as they tried to force a way of life on Americans that she found incompatible with her values.
“It’s fine. I have nothing in my heart that’s evil toward them. But these ideas and these arguments and the people who are at the top of the leftist power center, like the Scarboroughs of the world, I have zero tolerance for them,” Kelly continued.
Kelly told Michaels that she tried to accommodate the Left’s value system, but that when it came down to issues like brainwashing kids into transgenderism or allowing biological men into women’s sports or locker rooms, there wasn’t any space for compromise.
“I tried for years to be open-minded, to listen to them, to, you know, okay, I’ll do a little self-flagellation if that’s what I need to do in order to like have a conversation about the things that matter. There’s no doing that. One of us is going to have to bend the knee and it’s going to be them, not me, when it comes to women’s issues or the protection of children or the things that are really important to me,” Kelly declared.
