Megyn Kelly Called Meghan Markle the Duchess of Duplicity After She Did Something Incredibly Stupid

Martha Stewart built her empire, survived federal prison, and came back stronger.

Meghan Markle's team just called the 85-year-old American icon a confused old woman.

Megyn Kelly went on air and she had a word for Meghan Markle that is going to stick.

What Martha Stewart Actually Said

Martha Stewart told People magazine in early August that she attended a California dinner party where Meghan had "just gotten back from the palace" and "was talking about it."

Simple enough.

But Meghan's team immediately went into damage control mode.

A source close to the Duchess told reporters that Martha "must have been confused" because the two weren't even seated near one another.

Then the host of the dinner party went to People and said Stewart's account was "simply untrue."

Megyn Kelly watched all of this unfold and reached one immediate conclusion.

"The Duchess of Duplicity couldn't stand it," Kelly said on the August 13 episode of The Megyn Kelly Show.

Kelly accused Meghan of being the driving force behind the party host's decision to call up People and publicly contradict Stewart.

"She seems to have gotten the host of the party to call up People magazine and say that Martha's account was simply untrue," Kelly said.

Calling an 85-Year-Old a Dotty Old Lady

Meghan's camp didn't just say Martha was wrong – they implied she was mentally confused.

Martha Stewart – still working at 85, still sharper than anyone who crossed her – doesn't misremember dinner conversations.

"Martha doesn't spew s–t," Kelly said flatly. "She gives it straight."

Kelly made clear that Stewart is "sharp as a tack" and the suggestion that she misheard anything is insulting.

And Kelly is right.

Meghan Markle has spent years positioning herself as a victim of powerful institutions – the monarchy, the tabloids, the royal family.

Now she's using those exact same tactics against a private American citizen who said something mildly critical.

The Highgrove Visit Nobody Was Supposed to Talk About

Harry and Meghan visited King Charles at Highgrove in July – the first time Charles had seen his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet in person since 2022.

The agreement was clear: no public statements about the visit, no photographs shared from Highgrove.

Meghan posted family vacation photos afterward – but nothing from the King's estate.

That suggests she understood the terms.

But if Martha Stewart – who by her own account barely exchanged a couple of words with Meghan – somehow knew that Meghan had just returned from seeing the King, that means news of the private visit was already moving through the room.

The palace noticed.

Sources told Rob Shuter that royal insiders were alarmed by the dinner party story.

"If someone who barely interacted with Meghan knew she'd been with the King, imagine what everyone else at that table heard," one insider said.

This is the pattern Meghan has repeated for years.

She demands privacy when it suits her – and then the information mysteriously travels anyway.

Then when someone notices, it's never Meghan's fault.

It was the tabloids. It was the royal family. It was a confused 85-year-old woman misremembering a dinner party conversation.

Martha Stewart Is Not the Problem Here

Meghan Markle tried to publicly humiliate a woman who spent fifty years building exactly the lifestyle brand Meghan is now trying to copy.

Martha Stewart questioned whether the career path – actress to princess to homemaking guru on television – really followed any coherent logic.

She's not wrong about that either.

And instead of ignoring it or laughing it off, Meghan apparently mobilized enough pressure to get a dinner party host to call a national magazine and call Martha confused.

That's not the move of someone who has nothing to hide.

That's the move of someone who is very aware that the story could go somewhere they don't want it to go.

Megyn Kelly called it "incredibly stupid" – and that word is telling.

Not wrong. Not dishonest. Stupid.

Because going to war with Martha Stewart over a dinner party comment about a private royal visit that was never supposed to be public in the first place – that is exactly as dumb as it sounds.
