Mayor Pete was furious when he heard what one state was proposing about electric cars

The Left are completely enthralled with the radical “green” movement.

They are pushing for climate action at the cost of common sense.

And Mayor Pete was furious when he heard what one state was proposing about electric cars.

Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg is one of the leading political proponents of electric vehicles.

So his heart must’ve skipped a beat when he saw that the state of Wyoming is considering banning EVs by 2035.

The proposal is a clear counterweight to the People’s Republic of Kalifornia and Governor Gavin Newsom pledging to phase out new gas-powered vehicles by the same year.

While people should be free to buy whatever cars they want, the resolution from the six Wyoming State Legislators – four Senators and two Representatives – makes more economic and environmental sense than proposals from the climate zealots.

The joint resolution argued that “Wyoming’s vast stretches of highway, coupled with a lack of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, make the widespread use of electric vehicles impracticable for the state.”

The “green” response to that argument would be to build out the EV infrastructure, but as the state legislators mentioned in their joint resolution, “[T]he expansion of electric vehicle charging stations in Wyoming and throughout the country necessary to support more electric vehicles will require massive amounts of new power generation in order to sustain the misadventure of electric vehicles.”

This is undoubtedly true.

Not only that, “the batteries used in electric vehicles contain critical minerals whose domestic supply is limited and at risk for disruption” and “the critical minerals used in electric batteries are not easily recyclable or disposable, meaning that municipal landfills in Wyoming and elsewhere will be required to develop practices to dispose of these minerals in a safe and responsible manner.”

Honest climate activists will admit that buying used gas-powered vehicles leaves a smaller carbon footprint than buying new electric vehicles, but that would not allow the Left to take over the entire economy under the pretext of saving the planet.

The Wyoming State Legislators also explained that “the oil and gas industry in Wyoming has created countless jobs and has contributed revenues to the state of Wyoming throughout the state’s history.”

Eliminating all of those jobs in favor of a “green” market that simply does not exist is foolhardy.

But the Left doesn’t care.

They keep promising “green” jobs that simply do not exist.

Regardless of what happens with the resolution, Wyoming provided a well-researched response to the climate activists who don’t care about the economy or quality of life.
