The Washington, D.C. Swamp is still coming for Matt Gaetz.
Gaetz is facing allegations of sleaziest nature.
And Matt Gaetz got blindsided by this secret report on one ugly sex scandal.
House Ethics Committee holds secret vote to release report
Matt Gaetz backed out of his nomination to serve as Donald Trump’s Attorney General after RINO Senators refused to vote for Gaetz.
The establishment hates Gaetz because he successfully ousted former RINO Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy after McCarthy rolled over for Joe Biden in spending negotiations.
Gaetz also resigned from Congress as the House Ethics Committee was investigating false allegations that he had sex with a 17-year-old girl.
Resigning from Congress was supposed to end the investigation – a House Ethics Committee has no jurisdiction over non-House members – but the committee reportedly voted to release the report anyway.
“The House Ethics Committee secretly voted earlier this month to release its report into the conduct of former Rep. Matt Gaetz before the end of this Congress, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the matter,” CNN reported.
Gaetz plans to run for Governor of Florida in 2026 – likely with Donald Trump’s endorsement – so the Swamp wants this report out in public in the hopes it dissuades Trump from backing Gaetz and allows an establishment RINO to win the GOP nomination.
Matt Gaetz responds
Gaetz blasted the ethics report as a political hit job based on the fake charges the Biden Justice Department investigated him for but were forced to admit were baseless and refused to prosecute.
“The Biden/Garland DOJ spent years reviewing allegations that I committed various crimes,” Gaetz wrote on X.
“I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED. Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me,” Gaetz added.
Gaetz explained that the ethics committee report depended on the same witnesses whose testimony the Biden Justice Department found so lacking in credibility that it wouldn’t bring criminal charges against a Trump ally every Democrat wanted to see in jail.
Gaetz went on to say that the charges against him were so phony that no one even tried to sue him in civil court where the burden of proof is much lower.
“Then, the very ‘witnesses’ DOJ deemed not-credible were assembled by House Ethics to repeat their claims absent any cross-examination or challenge from me or my attorneys. I’ve had no chance to ever confront any accusers. I’ve never been charged. I’ve never been sued,” Gaetz continued.
Gaetz said the committee will smear him with a one-sided report that denied him due process.
“Instead, House Ethics will reportedly post a report online that I have no opportunity to debate or rebut as a former member of the body,” Gaetz wrote.
Gaetz said all these charges were nonsense, which is why no one ever tried to prove it in court, where it would have fallen apart on the slightest contact.
“In my single days, I often sent funds to women I dated – even some I never dated but who asked. I dated several of these women for years. I NEVER had sexual contact with someone under 18. Any claim that I have would be destroyed in court – which is why no such claim was ever made in court,” Gaetz remarked.
The Swamp plays dirty and they play for keeps.
And Never-Trumpers and Democrats know that in modern America an allegation gets treated as fact no matter what the truth of the matter is.
