Tim Walz just pardoned a convicted child abuser to keep him in the country.
Then Pramila Jayapal demanded America be ashamed of the people trying to deport him.
Then the man who runs ICE told Jayapal exactly what she should be ashamed of.
The Pardon That Started It All
Tou Lue Vang came to Minnesota from Laos in 1994.
Between 2002 and 2004, he repeatedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl.
When police arrested him, he said it was "a cultural thing" and claimed the child was just as guilty as he was.
A federal immigration judge ordered him deported in 2006.
ICE arrested him in December 2025 and had him ready to remove from the country.

On June 10, the Minnesota Board of Pardons – Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and a state Supreme Court justice – voted to grant Vang a full pardon.
Their stated goal was to protect him from deportation.
Secretary Mullin wasn't interested in their opinion.
"After @GovTimWalz pardoned a convicted illegal alien who sexually abused a 10-year-old girl, the Trump administration took action and DEPORTED this disgusting individual," Mullin posted.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked Vang's legal status.
ICE put him on a plane.
He is no longer in America.
Jayapal's Shame Lecture Backfires Instantly
Pramila Jayapal has called ICE a terrorist organization.
She has called for the agency to be "fully dismantled."
She has voted against every cent of ICE funding and spent months threatening to shut down the entire federal government unless Democrats got the power to handcuff immigration officers.
She lost that fight in June when Congress passed a $70 billion package funding ICE and Border Patrol through the end of Trump's term – by two votes.

Her response to losing was to demand that everyone who beat her feel ashamed.
"Every single person who voted to give billions more to ICE last month should be ashamed," she posted Friday. "Not one more cent of our taxpayer dollars should fund this lawless, rogue agency."
Mullin answered her from his official DHS account in one sentence.
"You should be ashamed of yourself for protecting criminals, and prioritizing them over law-abiding American citizens and our brave men and women of law enforcement," he wrote.
The social media audience scored it the same way – Mullin's reply pulled roughly 15,000 likes on 338,000 views before Saturday morning.
This Is What the Fight Is Actually About
Jayapal has been selling the same product for years: ICE officers are the criminals, illegal immigrants are the victims, and anyone who disagrees hates immigrants.
That product falls apart the moment you name the specific people she is protecting.
Democrats who rail against ICE as "lawless" and "rogue" are using those words to protect men like Tou Lue Vang – a man who offered a child $10 to stay quiet, told police her suffering was normal, and then had a governor hand him a letter of congratulations twenty years later.
Jayapal knows who she is protecting.

She just assumes her supporters will never connect the pardon to the policy.
Mullin made sure Friday that connection got 338,000 views.
Jayapal voted against the funding, lost, and is now demanding shame from the people who beat her.
The people who beat her just deported a man who r*ped a child.
She is going to keep demanding shame.
They are going to keep deporting.
