Conservatives are supposed to fight the Left, not each other.
But one Fox News host just broke that rule in the ugliest way possible.
And Mark Levin just crossed one line that left Megyn Kelly furious.
Levin weaponizes cancel culture against fellow conservative
Mark Levin proved he's no better than the Left this week when he launched a vicious personal attack against Megyn Kelly using the exact cancel culture tactics conservatives have spent years fighting.
The 68-year-old Fox News weekend host dredged up Kelly's 2018 NBC controversy in a desperate attempt to destroy her career.
"Meg Kelly, whose ratings were so bad on NBC she became a laughingstock, was canned for promoting blackface on Halloween," Levin wrote on X.¹ "You see, she was always a degenerate bigot. This is why she's cool with Candace Owens and Jack Posobiec. This is why she slobbers over Qatarlson. She's part of the Woke Reich — the queen of the modern Klan. More to come."¹
Levin calling anyone part of the "Woke Reich" while literally trying to cancel Kelly over a years-old controversy is rich.
Kelly wasn't having it.
"You're just upset bc I'm not afraid of you or your baseless slurs," Kelly fired back.² "You're an old, irrelevant, bitter, angry man who could never make it in the Fox News primetime. We used to laugh at you there for your red-faced tantrums over … everything."²
Kelly told the truth Levin didn't want to hear – he never earned a weekday primetime slot at Fox despite years of trying.
Kelly refuses to bow to the gatekeepers
The real reason Levin attacked Kelly has nothing to do with her 2018 NBC comments.
Kelly committed the unforgivable sin of refusing to denounce fellow conservatives Jack Posobiec and Candace Owens when the establishment demanded it.
Ben Shapiro kicked off the witch hunt at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest conference in mid-December, attacking Kelly and others as "grifters."
"The conservative movement is in serious danger, from charlatans who claim to speak in the name of principle but actually traffic in conspiracism and dishonesty," Shapiro said.³
Shapiro specifically called out Kelly for "cowardice" because she wouldn't join the pile-on against Owens over conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's September assassination.⁴
Kelly stood her ground at AmericaFest, declaring "I don't think we are friends anymore" about Shapiro.⁵
She recognized what Shapiro, Levin, and others were really doing – trying to police who gets to be part of the conservative movement.
The feud started when Levin attacked Posobiec for holding up a rosary during his AmericaFest speech, calling him a "crackpot."⁶
Kelly defended Posobiec and Christians everywhere who pray the rosary.
That's when Levin escalated to personal destruction mode by bringing up the blackface controversy.
Levin uses leftist tactics against conservatives
Here's what makes Levin's attack so disgusting.
Conservatives spent years fighting back against cancel culture and the Left's weaponization of past comments to destroy careers.
Now Levin is doing the exact same thing to a fellow conservative who won't fall in line.
Kelly's 2018 NBC comments were asking a legitimate question about Halloween costumes in the context of a discussion – not "promoting blackface" as Levin dishonestly claimed.
NBC overreacted and fired her because the network bowed to woke pressure.
And now Levin is citing that woke mob victory as justification for his own attack.
Even some who disagree with Kelly on the Owens issue called out Levin's tactics.
Conservative commentator Dennis Michael Lynch wrote: "Although Megyn is a fake conservative who is out for herself, Mark, this tweet was as bad as Trump going after Reiner post murder. Kelly's blackface comment was not bigoted."⁷
The conservative movement faces real threats from the radical Left.
Instead of uniting against those threats, figures like Levin and Shapiro are conducting purity tests and trying to excommunicate anyone who won't obey their commands.
Kelly refused to be bullied into denouncing her friends.
That took actual courage – something the weekend Fox News host sitting in his comfortable studio clearly doesn't understand.
Fox News stayed completely silent as Levin savaged his former colleague.
"It's like crazy person vs crazy person. Who you gonna root for in that fight?" one Fox News producer told The Hollywood Reporter.⁸
The network refused to comment when asked about the feud.⁸
Conservatives who claim to oppose cancel culture can't turn around and use those same tactics against people they disagree with.
Levin showed his true colors this week – and they're not conservative red, white, and blue.
