Leftists are already screeching about one Christian blockbuster that’s on the way

It’s quite clear that Christianity is under assault in American culture.

That rings particularly true in secular Hollywood.

And leftists are already screeching about one Christian blockbuster that’s on the way.

Mel Gibson has long been a target of the Left because of his Catholic faith and conservative political leanings.

But because of his talent as an actor and director, Gibson has been allowed to continue working in Hollywood.

He has essentially been grandfathered in like Clint Eastwood.

And Gibson’s upcoming project, a sequel to The Passion of the Christ, is sure to ruffle feathers among left-wing atheists, as the first film did.

The film is set to go into production in the spring.

World of Reel reported that “Mel Gibson will finally be shooting ‘The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection’ in a few months. A late Spring production is currently being eyed with Jim Caviezel set to return in the role of Jesus. The sequel to Gibson’s 2004 mega-hit ‘The Passion of the Christ’ has been ruminating in development for around ten years now. The original made $612 Million on a scant $30 million budget making it one of the most successful independent films of all-time . . . Gibson has been hard at work on the screenplay with ‘Braveheart’ screenwriter Randall Wallace — there have already been six drafts . . . Although ‘Passion’ divided critics almost twenty years ago, it was an eye-opening account of the last days of Jesus. The film was as gripping and horrific as any horror movie.”

Caviezel, a devout Catholic, is excited to reprise the role of Jesus.

In a 2020 interview, he explained, “It’s going to be a masterpiece. It’s gonna be the biggest film in world history, I believe it will be based on what I feel in my heart. It’s so imperative in this time. These films can’t be made now . . . The films they make are Marvel Comics movies. You’ll see Superman. You won’t see Jesus . . . I got to play the greatest superhero there ever was.”

Gibson and Caviezel teaming up again is like nails on a chalkboard to the radical Left.

At the height of the pandemic, Caviezel gave a fiery speech railing against COVID tyranny and the spiritual battle afoot.

The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection comes at a time when hostility toward faith is at an all-time high in America.

The Left are determined to stamp out Christianity from the public square.
