In a short time, Lauren Boebert has shot her way up the list of rising Republican stars.
She’s like the AOC of the GOP – except sane and smart.
And now Rep. Boebert (R-CO) is introducing a bill that has Chuck Schumer and his cronies shaking in their boots.
Even before being elected to Congress, Rep. Lauren Boebert of southern and western Colorado made her name fighting gun-grabbing efforts by the far-Left.
Boebert was elected in November 2020, knocking off a five-term incumbent RINO Representative.
Prior to that, in September 2019, Boebert made national headlines by confronting then-Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke at an Aurora town hall meeting over his proposal for an Australia-like firearm buy-back program.
Later in the same month, Boebert attended an Aspen City Council meeting and led the charge opposing gun-free zone ordinances for all public buildings.
She then went on to organize the “We Will Not Comply!” rally opposing Colorado’s so-called “Red Flag” law – which would have allowed for virtually anyone, for almost any reason to make a complaint about a gun owner and get that person’s firearms confiscated.
Boebert has continued her staunch support in her short time in Congress – including championing the NO REGISTRY Rights Act.
The bill would force the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to delete all of its internal records on gun sales and transfers.
Now, the former restaurant owner is making it clear she’s not a fan of the supposed “compromise” Senate gun control bill.
“The so-called ‘Bipartisan Safer Communities Act’ tramples on the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens and will have no significant impact in stopping mass shootings and deterring gun violence,” Boebert said. “This poorly written law was negotiated behind closed doors by a small group of Senate RINOs that do not reflect the interests and values of the American people.”
The bill has already passed the Senate, House and was signed by President Joe Biden.
Fifteen RINO senators joined with every Senate Democrat to pass the “compromise” bill – including: Mitch McConnell (KY), John Cornyn (TX), Thom Tillis (NC), Richard Burr (NC), Roy Blunt (MO), Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME), Joni Ernst (IA), Lindsey Graham (SC), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Rob Portman (OH), Mitt Romney (UT), Pat Toomey and Todd Young (IN).
The bill offers money to incentivize states to pass “Red Flag” laws, adds a waiting period of between 3 and 10 days, adds additional background investigations for people under 21 to purchase a firearm, and expands the definition of a “relationship” for the purposes of the enforcement of the laws to include, basically, anyone one had a fling with in the past.
But Boebert just introduced new legislation in the House that would effectively rescind the new law.
“The Shall Not Be Infringed Act fully repeals this unconstitutional bill and defends the Second Amendment rights of all Americans,” Boebert said of her counter legislation.
Unfortunately, the bill stands little chance of passage under the current legislative makeup.
