Paramount Network’s Yellowstone is one of the most popular series on television.
The show’s fifth season is currently on a midseason break.
But Kevin Costner just made one announcement that has Yellowstone fans nervously on the edge of their seats.
Paramount Network aired the first episode of Yellowstone back on June 20, 2018.
Since the first episode aired, Yellowstone has become one of the most-watched television series in America.
The season three premiere attracted 7.6 million viewers, the season four premiere tallied 12.7 million viewers, and the first part of season five garnered 12.1 million viewers.
The second half of season five is in production and is set to air later this year.
The series stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, and Gil Birmingham and is widely-popular among conservative voters.
But undeniably the number-one star on the show is Hollywood legend Kevin Costner, who plays the role of John Dutton.
Costner is one of the most well-known actors in America, racking up two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards over the years.
He received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and a Golden Globe award for his role on Yellowstone.
But Yellowstone fans are on edge over the news that Kevin Costner could be leaving the show after the fifth season.
Costner’s wife of 18 years just filed for a divorce.
“The end of Kevin Costner’s 18-year marriage to estranged wife Christine Baumgartner marks an unpredictable turn in the Academy Award winner’s public resurgence after finding on-screen success yet again with Yellowstone,” Fox News reported. “In documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Baumgartner first filed for divorce from the Field of Dreams actor on May 1, citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’”
Paramount has not officially confirmed if Costner is truly leaving the show.
“We have no news to report,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.”
But according to sources close to production, Costner is definitely leaving the show after this season.
Only time will tell whether or not Kevin Costner exits his role on Yellowstone or remains around to entertain fans of the show for more seasons.
But until then, fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting on the final answer.
