Kate Middleton's outdoor obsession fuels royal comeback
Kate Middleton announced her cancer remission in January 2025 after undergoing chemotherapy throughout 2024.¹
The Princess of Wales revealed her diagnosis in March 2024 after abdominal surgery uncovered cancer that doctors initially thought was non-cancerous.²
Her return to public life has been carefully managed, with royal watchers noting a dramatic shift in how Kate presents herself to the world.
The future Queen is leaning heavily into outdoor imagery and nature-based activities as part of her recovery narrative.
Kate's newest reported hobby is meditation, taught to her by renowned photographer Chris Levine.³
"Princess Catherine says the practice can be just as beneficial as medication," royal expert Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. "Meditation gives her balance and peace and is a winner when it comes to overcoming anxiety."⁴

Kate has also taken up foraging for mushrooms in Norfolk, showing her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis how to identify edible fungi.
She told young volunteers during a visit to Wales that she found a "huge" puffball mushroom near their home that fascinated her kids.⁶

"Cold swimming — the colder, the better. I absolutely love it," Kate said. "Slightly to the point where William's like, 'Catherine, you're crazy.' And it's dark, and it's raining. I will go and seek out cold water."⁹
