Kate Middleton is helping plan the British Royal Family’s Christmas celebration.
This year’s celebration includes something extra special.
And Kate Middleton revealed one Christmas plan that Meghan Markle is going to hate.
The British Royal Family Christmas celebration has some notable absences
Prince William and Kate Middleton have a special Christmas season planned with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are joining the other members of the British Royal Family at Sandringham, the former country estate of Queen Elizabeth II, to celebrate Christmas.
The Royal Family has their Christmas dinner and exchange of gifts at the gathering.
“Historically, the King always gets there on Christmas Eve but I think he gets there the day before now,” King Charles III former butler Grant Harrold told the New York Post. “They’ll probably go on Christmas Eve, but if they’re already at Amber Hall, they’ll probably be up there before, especially with Kate not doing quite as much at the moment.”
Kate announced that she had an undisclosed form of cancer in March and wrapped up her chemotherapy treatments in September.
“Last Christmas she was probably aware that something wasn’t quite right, so I imagine it was quite a tough Christmas,” Harrold said.
This year the atmosphere and celebration will be more upbeat according to the former royal butler.
“It will be like any other Christmas, focused on the young family,” Harrold explained. “They’re very family-orientated, like the late queen, so that will be their focus.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will spend Christmas in California
Prince Harry and Megan Markle will be spending their sixth Christmas away from the British Royal Family after they weren’t invited to this year’s celebration.
They’ll be spending this Christmas with their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, with Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, in California.
Harrold predicted that William and Kate would reach out to Harry and Meghan to wish them Happy Christmas.
“I think Harry and Meghan themselves will possibly reach out,” Harrold said. “The thing about Christmas, it is about goodwill to others, letting bygones be bygones, forgetting the past, moving into the New Year.”
“So if there’s any point in the year that the families are going to communicate or touch base, it’s going to be over Christmas — there’s something magical about Christmas that gets families back together,” Harrold added.
Kate will also put on a Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey in early December.
“This year’s service provides a moment to reflect upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives,” Kensington Palace said in a statement.
1,600 people who made an impact in their communities in the United Kingdom will be invited to take part in the event.
“The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities,” the statement continued. “This theme takes inspiration from the Christmas story which encourages us to consider the experiences of others and the important human need of giving and receiving empathy.”
There were questions if Kate would put on the event this year after her battle with cancer.
Life, it seems, is starting to get back to normal for Kate Middleton after her battle with cancer.
