House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is applying the standard set by Nancy Pelosi on House committee assignments.
McCarthy announced plans to move forward on voting to remove Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the Foreign Affairs Committee.
But Karine Jean-Pierre just demanded Kevin McCarthy seat Ilhan Omar on the Foreign Affairs Committee for this hilarious reason.
Before the Midterm elections, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy promised to kick Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) from the House Intelligence Committee and to hold a vote on removing Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee if the GOP took back the majority and he became Speaker.
McCarthy is removing Swalwell after he got caught having an intimate relationship with a Chinese spy.
Companies in the private sector won’t even grant Swalwell a security clearance due to this affair.
Adam Schiff used his position on the Committee to spread lies about the Russian collusion hoax and the phony Ukraine impeachment sham.
Since the House Intelligence Committee deals with classified material, the Speaker has the authority to reject nominees for the Committee and other select committees.
However, removing Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee will require a full vote of the House.
But apparently Karine Jean-Pierre does not understand the huge difference between removing Schiff and Swalwell versus holding a vote to remove Omar.
And during Wednesday’s White House press briefing, Jean-Pierre attacked McCarthy and demanded he seat Ilhan Omar due to her “expertise” in foreign policy.
“Representative Schiff, Representative Swalwell, and also Representative Omar, are [sic] expertise and bring a lot to the table when it comes to foreign policy and national security,” Jean-Pierre said. “Those Congressional members bring a lot of expertise to that [sic] committee.”
Like Karine Jean-Pierre, Ilhan Omar has a lengthy history of radical anti-Israel and anti-Semitic statements.
In the past, Omar used her position on the Committee to advocate for boycotts against Israel.
Kevin McCarthy warned Ilhan Omar that he would hold a vote to remove her if he became the next Speaker of the House.
Omar thought McCarthy was bluffing.
And Democrats are in a frenzy now that they realize he was serious about removing Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
