A woman who lost to Donald Trump by nearly three million votes walked into Al Sharpton's convention last month and told the crowd she might run for president again.
The audience chanted "run again" and Harris soaked it up – unaware she was handing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez exactly the opening she needed.
Now a new poll shows AOC leading the entire Democrat field, and Harris is sitting in fourth place like she never existed.
The Poll That Should End Her Campaign Before It Starts
AtlasIntel is not some fringe outfit.
Nate Silver ranked it the most accurate pollster of the entire 2024 presidential election.
When AtlasIntel released its new 2028 Democratic primary survey this week, here is what it found.
AOC leads at 26 percent – a ten-point jump since December.

Pete Buttigieg, the man who went on paternity leave while American supply chains collapsed, sits second at 22 percent.
Gavin Newsom, who turned California into an open-air homeless camp and calls it progress, comes in third at 21 percent.
Kamala Harris – the sitting former vice president who just finished a nationwide tour – lands at 12.9 percent.
Harris is being beaten by a bartender from the Bronx who has never won anything outside of New York City.
She is losing to Gavin Newsom, whose state just lost its second congressional seat to outmigration.
And she still thinks she is running for president.
Democrats Are About to Learn Nothing
The last time the Democrat Party decided that primary energy mattered more than winning general elections, they nominated George McGovern.
McGovern was the AOC of 1972.

He was beloved by the progressive base, celebrated by campus activists, and completely confident his movement represented the future of America.
Richard Nixon carried 49 states.
McGovern lost 520 electoral votes to 17.
He failed to win his own home state of South Dakota.
He later said, "I opened the doors of the Democratic Party and 20 million people walked out."
AOC is running the same playbook with a better social media following.
She told David Axelrod at the University of Chicago that her ambition is not a title or a seat – it is to change this country.
She said single-payer healthcare is forever.
She said a living wage is forever.
She said worker's rights are forever.
Every persuadable voter in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania heard that and started thinking about who to vote for on the Republican side.
The Number Democrats Cannot Explain Away
Here is what makes this poll especially damaging for every Democrat dreaming of 2028.
AOC sat at 16 percent in the last AtlasIntel survey in December.
She is now at 26 percent.
That is a ten-point surge in five months – while Harris went from leading most polls to sitting in fourth place.
Voters are not warming up to Kamala Harris.

They are running away from her toward the one candidate who would guarantee Republicans keep the White House until 2033.
A Harvard-Harris poll taken around the same period showed AOC at just eight percent – an eighteen-point gap from what AtlasIntel found.
One poll has her at 26. Another has her at eight.
That is not a margin of error.
That is a party that cannot agree on what it believes, who it is, or whether it wants to win.
The Thank-You Note Republicans Are Already Writing
AOC cannot win Pennsylvania.
She cannot win Georgia, Nevada, or Michigan.
She won her congressional district in Queens with 76 percent of the vote.
Queens is not Pennsylvania.
The same progressive voters who give AOC landslide wins in New York City are the same coalition that cost Democrats the 2024 election – because when the party runs left of the country, the country runs to Trump.

Harris already proved the moderate lane does not work either.
She ran as the competent, reasonable alternative, adopted every Biden position, refused to say anything that might upset any interest group – and still lost.
Now she is telling Al Sharpton she might try again, with the words "Listen, I might, I might. I'm thinking about it."
The other Democrats at that Sharpton convention – Shapiro, Pritzker, Moore, Buttigieg – all gave carefully crafted non-answers when asked about 2028.
Harris just told the whole country she is in.
And the pollster Nate Silver trusts most just told the whole country she is losing.
If Democrats nominate AOC in 2028, Republicans will not need to run a campaign.
If they nominate Harris again, they already know how that ends.
