Joy Behar called Usha Vance a power addict on national television ten weeks ago.
Now her show just booked Usha's husband.
And there's a reason The View suddenly wants JD Vance in that chair.
The Show That Called Usha Vance an Addict
Behar looked into the camera and declared that Second Lady Usha Vance was "addicted to the power" – because her husband had the audacity to rise to the second-highest office in the country.
Sunny Hostin piled on, arguing that Usha's values couldn't possibly align with her husband's – because Vance had once said he hoped his Hindu wife would eventually embrace the Christian gospel.
The same panel that turned away all but two conservatives while hosting 128 liberal guests decided that a Yale-educated lawyer choosing to stand by her husband was evidence of a character defect.
Now they've booked her husband for June 16.
The View hasn't invited a sitting Republican of Vance's stature in years – and the ones who do show up, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, are there specifically because they've turned on Trump.
Vance is the opposite.
He's the sitting Vice President, the most powerful Republican not named Donald Trump, and he walks in knowing exactly what these women said about his family.
The FCC Is Already Watching
ABC's The View is currently under federal investigation.
The FCC launched an inquiry into whether the show violated the "equal time" rule after it hosted Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico in February without offering the same airtime to Republican challengers.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has publicly questioned whether The View even qualifies as a "bona fide news program" – the designation that would exempt it from equal-time requirements.
ABC has fought back hard, retaining former U.S. Solicitor General Paul Clement and filing letters accusing the Trump administration of unconstitutional retaliation.
Disney submitted over 6,200 pages of documents to the FCC and called the license review "plainly incompatible with the First Amendment."
The FCC started pulling ABC's broadcast licenses for early renewal – licenses that weren't set to expire until 2028.
Now, with the midterms approaching and their licenses hanging in the balance, The View is suddenly booking the sitting Vice President.
Think about that for one second.
The show that spent a year calling Vance a butt-kisser and his wife a power addict needs him more than he needs them.
What Vance Is Actually Walking Into
Vance is the third sitting vice president to appear on The View.
He's going to promote his new book Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith – a story about a working-class kid from Ohio who found his way back to faith and built a life rooted in exactly the values this panel spent a year attacking.
That book is going to land on a panel that mocked his wife's religion, questioned his marriage, and declared America under his administration to be in an "existential crisis."
Every single one of the six co-hosts – Whoopi, Behar, Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro – is expected in the studio.
All six.

Vance knows what they said.
He's going anyway – because he's not afraid of them, and they know it.
This isn't a peace offering from the Trump administration.
This is a man walking into a lion's den carrying his testimony with him.
Vance will be the most consequential conservative ever to sit at that table – and he arrives with something they can't touch: a story about faith they spent a year ridiculing.
Behar can complain about power all she wants.
Vance holds most of it.
