Bill and Hillary Clinton think they're above the law.
The former power couple defied congressional subpoenas to testify about Jeffrey Epstein.
And Jon Stewart stunned liberals when he made this shocking demand about the Clintons.
Jon Stewart Tells Clintons to Testify in House Oversight Committee Epstein Probe
Jon Stewart used his "The Weekly Show" podcast to deliver a message Democrats didn't want to hear.
When asked whether Bill and Hillary Clinton should comply with House Oversight Committee subpoenas in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, Stewart didn't hesitate.
"I absolutely do," Stewart said during Tuesday's episode.
Then he went even further.
"Do I personally think they should comply? Abso-f***ing-lutely. Absolutely," Stewart declared.
The Clintons refused to show up for their scheduled depositions this week despite months of negotiations with Committee Chairman James Comer.
Their lawyers sent a defiant letter claiming the subpoenas were "invalid and legally unenforceable."
Both Clintons wrote that they had already provided "the limited information they possess" about Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
That didn't satisfy Stewart, who rarely breaks with liberal orthodoxy on issues involving Democrat icons.
The Epstein Connection Democrats Want Buried
The Clinton-Epstein relationship spans decades.
White House visitor logs document Epstein making 17 visits during Bill Clinton's presidency.
After leaving office, Clinton took 27 flights on the pedophile's private Boeing 727.
The Justice Department recently released photos from the investigation.
One shows Clinton swimming alongside Ghislaine Maxwell.
Another captures him in a hot tub with an unidentified woman whose face DOJ redacted to protect victims.
Clinton has never been accused of wrongdoing related to Epstein.
But he's also never answered detailed questions under oath about their relationship.
"Jeffrey Epstein visited the White House 17 times while Bill Clinton was president," Comer noted. "No one's accusing Bill Clinton of anything, any wrongdoing. We just have questions."
Questions the Clintons refuse to answer.
Stewart pointed out the hypocrisy of the Clintons demanding transparency while refusing to provide it themselves.
"And if they've got something to hide or an affair, like yes, we should know about all this," Stewart said. "This is bonkers, how long this is going on."
The Justice Department has released less than 1% of Epstein-related documents despite a congressional mandate requiring full disclosure.
Stewart criticized DOJ for the delays while simultaneously calling out the Clintons.
"But absolutely, they should comply and the Department of Justice should comply, and these victims of this heinous case should finally get some of the justice and peace that they deserve," Stewart stated.
Bill Clinton Faces Criminal Contempt of Congress Over Jeffrey Epstein Investigation
The House Oversight Committee will vote next week to hold Bill Clinton in contempt of Congress.
Hillary Clinton faces the same threat if she continues refusing to appear.
Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro both served prison time for defying January 6 Committee subpoenas under the same contempt statute.
The Clintons are betting they'll get different treatment.
Their letter to Comer included a dramatic flourish about fighting for "this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences."
"Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences. For us, now is that time," the Clintons wrote.
Fighting for the country apparently means refusing to answer questions about a convicted sex trafficker.
The Clintons' lawyers claim the couple has no additional information beyond what they've already provided in writing.
But Comer and the committee want them under oath, where lying carries consequences.
Once the contempt resolution passes committee, the full House will vote on it.
If it passes, the matter goes to the Justice Department for potential prosecution.
Past practice suggests DOJ rarely prosecutes contempt charges against high-profile political figures.
But the precedent of Bannon and Navarro serving time could change that calculation.
Stewart's willingness to break from the liberal consensus on the Clintons shows even some on the Left recognize the couple's pattern of avoiding accountability.
For three decades, Bill and Hillary Clinton have operated by their own rules.
Congressional subpoenas are just the latest rules they think don't apply to them.
