The Democrat Party just handed its future to a New York City socialist who wants to abolish ICE.
Three Mamdani-backed candidates crushed establishment Democrats in congressional primaries two weeks ago – and every one of them is headed to Congress.
Senator John Kennedy appeared on Sean Hannity on Tuesday night and said what none of those establishment Democrats have the guts to say.
Kennedy Named the Countries and Democrats Have No Answer
“Unless you were playing Frisbee in the quad during history class or economics class,” Kennedy told fill-in host Kellyanne Conway, “you know that the list of countries that have tried socialism and rejected it is as long as King Kong’s genitalia.”
He didn’t stop there.
The Soviet Union.
Cuba.
China.
Vietnam.
Argentina.

Venezuela.
Kennedy said he could keep going – and he’s right.
“They stand for the same thing: Kill all the millionaires, open all the prisons, open the border, defund the police, defund ICE,” Kennedy said. “Every single one of them knows the words to the Cuban national anthem. They’re all neo-socialists.”
The American Enterprise Institute has documented what every sane person already knows: socialism fails not because of bad luck or poor leadership, but because it ignores basic human incentives.
Every single time.
The Heritage Foundation was equally direct – socialism has failed in every country that tried it, including Israel, India, and the United Kingdom, all of which eventually abandoned it and turned to free markets.
What followed in each case was prosperity.
What preceded it was misery.
The Democrats Aren’t Just Tolerating Socialism – They’re Celebrating It
Kennedy didn’t pull that observation out of thin air.
Zohran Mamdani – the 34-year-old Democratic Socialists of America mayor of New York City – ran three hand-picked candidates through Democrat primaries two weeks ago and all three won.

Darializa Avila Chevalier, a card-carrying DSA member who helped organize anti-Israel protests at Columbia University, knocked off a two-term Hispanic congressman.
Claire Valdez, another DSA member, knocked off the establishment pick for a retiring Democrat’s seat.
Brad Lander, who pledged to serve as Mamdani’s ally in Congress, knocked off a two-term incumbent who was considered safe.
All three districts are deep blue – all three socialists are going to Congress.
And at the victory party, the crowd chanted “DSA! DSA!” while Mamdani declared, “We are showing there is a new path for politics in our city and in our country.”
Kennedy told Hannity exactly what that path leads to – and he listed the countries by name.
The Democrats Know This Is a Disaster and Can’t Stop It
Hakeem Jeffries campaigned against every one of Mamdani’s candidates.
He lost every time.
Pete Aguilar, the House Democrat Conference Chairman, called it “a couple” of wins and blamed voter anxiety about Trump.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had a more honest read: “Mamdani is the leader of the Democratic Party.”
A Fox News poll from March found 38 percent of Americans now think moving toward socialism would be a good thing – up from 18 percent in 2010.
Among Democrats under 45, that number was 66 percent.
“I take back what I said about genitalia,” he said. “I probably shouldn’t have said that.”
Kennedy called his Democrat colleagues “historically ignorant stooges” for letting this happen to their own party.
He’s being generous.
These aren’t ignorant politicians who stumbled into a bad position.
These are people who watched Mamdani’s movement roll through New York, cheered it on, and now want to replicate it nationwide.
They know exactly where this road goes.
Kennedy just named every country that went down it – and every one of those countries either collapsed, starved its own people, or had to abandon the whole thing and start over with capitalism.
The Democrats want to try it here anyway.
That’s not ignorance.
That’s a choice.
