John Kennedy has become the master of grilling clueless Democrat witnesses in hearings.
He stepped up a weight class with his latest challenge.
And John Kennedy destroyed an anti-Trump general with one question.
John Kennedy spars with Major General who smeared Trump supporters
One of the reasons President-elect Donald Trump nominated former Fox & Friends Weekend host Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense was to clear out the woke and politized brass in the military.
U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) sparred with a retired left-wing general who’s representative of the left-wing leadership that’s taken over the armed forces.
Retired Major General Randy Manner testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in a hearing titled “How Mass Deportations Will Separate American Families, Harm our Armed Forces, and Devastate Our Economy.”
Manner was there to defend illegal immigration and argue against the National Guard being used to help with deporting illegal aliens.
The retired general appeared on CNN’s Laura Coates Live during the election in October where he called Trump supporters “fascists” and defended woke former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley.
Kennedy trapped Manner by using his own words against him.
“On October 14th of this year, you went on CNN. I want to read you what you said, make sure I’m accurate,” Kennedy told Manner. “Here’s what you said: ‘President Trump is not like any sane leader. I’m very proud of General Milley for saying that President Trump is a total fascist.”
“To Bob Woodward, ‘If he as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is calling the president a fascist, I’m so proud of him for breaking that barrier,” Kennedy continued. “The challenge is because most MAGA Republicans, they don’t understand what fascism is. The reality is that they are, in fact, fascists themselves.’ Did I read that accurately?”
Manner was on his heels and claimed that he wasn’t at the hearing to discuss his “personal perspective.”
“Did I read that accurately?” Kennedy asked.
“I believe so. Yes,” Manner replied.
Left-wing General tripped up by John Kennedy
Manner endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and made the rounds in the media trashing Trump ahead of the election.
“You think you’re smarter than the American people, don’t you?” Kennedy asked.
“Absolutely not, Senator. I am here to discuss the use of the military as part of this mass deportation,” Manner responded.
Kennedy kept pressing a clearly nervous Manner.
“You think you’re more virtuous than the American people, don’t you, general?” Kennedy wondered.
“Senator, I am insulted by your comment,” Manner protested. “Senator, for 35 years, I served my country with absolute honor and distinction, and I will continue to do so.”
Manner parroted the messaging of Kamala and her media allies that Trump and his supporters were fascists during the election.
“Ms. Moran said — I wrote down her words — she said, ‘By their actions, you know what someone’s character is like,’” Kennedy noted.
The military is filled with officers like the retired Major General who are more interested in politics than readiness.
Generals like Manner are why Trump is fighting so hard to put Pete Hegseth in charge of the Pentagon.
