Joe Biden is feeling the heat after he made this disgusting move against Ron DeSantis

A rivalry is brewing between Joe Biden and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

And Biden just delivered one low blow to Florida.

Now Joe Biden is feeling the heat after he made this disgusting move against Ron DeSantis.

In September, Hurricane Ian slammed into the southwestern coast of Florida causing massive destruction.

The category 4 hurricane was one of the deadliest storms in the history of the state taking the lives of 146 people.

The catastrophic damage from Hurricane Ian could be more than $50 billion to repair.

Normally in the aftermath of a natural disaster, the federal government pitches in to help a state recover.

But the Biden regime denied Florida’s request for money to help residents with rebuilding in the aftermath of the hurricane.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) denied the state’s request for emergency housing assistance.

“Unfortunately, we got word last week that FEMA had denied our request for funding our state-led housing initiative, citing their ‘limited authority,’” DeSantis said. “We’re not just going to sit there and take no for an answer, and we’re going to figure out what we can do.”

A FEMA official said the proposed use of federal money by DeSantis couldn’t “achieve the intended outcomes for disaster survivors.”

But DeSantis stepped up after the federal government deprived Floridians of much needed disaster relief.

The Florida Governor said the state would provide $25 million in emergency housing assistance to residents impacted by the hurricane.

The money will go toward building materials and charities to help rebuild homes damaged by the hurricane.

“We want to cut through bureaucracy,” DeSantis explained. “We want to bring relief to impacted Floridians regardless of whether FEMA wants to be a part of that.”

He said that the state was going to provide travel trailers and recreational vehicles to residents who didn’t qualify for federal disaster relief.

“Not only do we think that that would be filling a need, but we also think we can do it quicker and more efficiently than FEMA,” DeSantis continued. “And so we’ve worked really hard to do that.”

DeSantis also announced that $35.2 million is being allocated to the state’s home repair fund to cover what the Florida Disaster Fund doesn’t.

Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis established the Florida Disaster Fund to raise money for charities for helping with hurricane recovery, raising over $57 million.

The director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Kevin Guthrie, said that in his three-decade career, the response to Hurricane Ian is the fastest he’s ever seen.

During DeSantis’ rise to political stardom, the Biden regime has taken petty and vindictive actions toward Florida.

The federal government took control of the distribution of lifesaving monoclonal antibody treatment during the pandemic and cut Florida off from the drug.

Now Ron DeSantis is stepping up and helping Floridians recover from Hurricane Ian while the Biden regime is playing political games.
