Joe Biden spent four years begging grocery chains to lower prices and got laughed out of the room.
Donald Trump made one request and Walmart dropped prices on beef, cherries, Coke, and corn – this week.
That is the whole story, and the media is spending today trying to explain why it doesn't count.
The Numbers Your Family Will See This Weekend
Walmart confirmed thousands of price rollbacks across groceries, household essentials, outdoor living, toys, and apparel – effective now at every Walmart and Sam's Club in America.
Ground beef drops from $6.74 to $5.94 per pound.
Fresh sweet corn falls from $0.68 an ear to $0.25 – a 63% cut.
A two-pound bag of red cherries collapses from $11.18 to $5.63 – down 50%.
A 24-pack of Coca-Cola drops from $14.97 to $9.97.
A 24-pack of Pepsi falls from $13.97 to $9.97.
Trump announced the move on Truth Social Monday, calling Walmart "a truly patriotic Company who loves the USA" and challenging every other retailer in America to follow their lead.
Walmart executive vice president Julie Barber confirmed the rollbacks in a company statement, promising customers "thousands of Rollbacks across the products customers are shopping for most."
What Biden Tried and What It Got Him
Biden's White House launched a formal initiative called the "Lowering Costs Agenda."
They published fact sheets.
They held press conferences.
They accused grocery chains of "greedflation" and "shrinkflation."
Biden raised the shrinkflation issue at the Super Bowl and made it a centerpiece of his State of the Union.
Biden's own Bureau of Labor Statistics then found that shrinkflation accounted for less than 2% of food price increases.
The real cause was Biden's multitrillion-dollar spending spree that overheated a recovering economy – and his own economists eventually admitted it.

Biden called on Walmart by name.
He called on Aldi, Amazon, and Target.
His White House Council of Economic Advisers held a press conference naming retailers who had trimmed a few prices, as if they had performed a public service.
Grocery prices went up 21% over his four years anyway.
Biden left office with ground beef at $5.55 per pound – up from $3.97 when he was sworn in, a 40% increase in four years.
That is the worst inflationary record for any administration since Jimmy Carter.
The Part the Media Keeps Getting Wrong
CNN ran a story Monday explaining that Walmart does summer rollbacks every year – as if that proves Trump didn't accomplish anything.
They are missing the point entirely.
Biden called on these same companies for years and they ignored him.
Trump makes one request and Walmart not only complies – they do it during the Fourth of July weekend, tied to America's 250th birthday, with specific dollar amounts the president can post on Truth Social.
The media wants you to believe that's a coincidence.
Now Kroger is watching.
Walmart's rollbacks are already forcing a response from competitors – Kroger's own CEO acknowledged last month that his stores were losing customers to promotional pricing, and a price war is escalating across the entire grocery sector.

That is exactly what Trump called for when he posted Monday: "Other retailers should follow the lead of these absolute Patriots."
They are going to.
Here Is What Happens Next
The American cattle herd is at its lowest level since 1951 – years of drought across Texas and the Great Plains forced ranchers to liquidate herds, and wholesale beef prices will stay elevated until that supply rebuilds.
Trump's team knows this, and the Walmart rollback is one piece of a larger campaign.
The administration has been drafting executive orders targeting beef market shortages, expanding import channels, and Health Secretary Kennedy has pushed beef back into federal nutrition guidance – all of it aimed at the same November reality: cost of living is the dominant issue heading into the midterms.
Monday's announcement is the visible, concrete move voters can see at checkout.
Your family will pay $5.94 for a pound of beef this weekend instead of $6.74.
That is not a talking point.
That is the receipt.
