The Biden administration has been given a walk by the press.
Reporters have done a terrible job holding Joe Biden accountable.
And Jim Jordan just schooled NBC’s Chuck Todd on one Merrick Garland abuse of power.
Joe Biden has weaponized the Department of Justice in truly disturbing ways.
Attorney General Merrick Garland’s authorized raid of Donald Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago was a giant red flag.
But that was not the first highly-politicized use of the DOJ.
AG Garland sicced the FBI on parents who protested at school board meetings.
NBC’s Chuck Todd tried to justify that excessive action, but Congressman Jim Jordan put him in his place.
Todd asked, “You talk about the FBI abusing power when it comes to parents and the school board. School board members were getting death threats. These weren’t idle things. These weren’t parents just yelling and screaming. These were actual death threats to elected officials and the FBI got a tip. How do they not? Should they not look into a death threat when an elected official gets a death threat?”
First, the go-to move of the Left is to claim that they are receiving death threats.
They never show any concern if right-wingers are threatened with death or barred from college campuses via the heckler’s veto.
Some conservative commentators have to travel with private security because of the threats of violence they receive, but the Left doesn’t care.
Also, the FBI does not investigate every random threat with multiple SUVs and helicopters.
Jordan responded, “The school board writes a letter on September 29. Five days later the Attorney General of the United States issues a memorandum to 101 U.S. Attorneys’ offices around the country saying set up this line that they can report on. Sixteen days later, Chuck, the FBI sends out an email to agents all across the country saying put this designation on parents reported on the snitch line that the Attorney General set up. So all that happens, think about it, September 29th, October 4th, October 20th. That all happens in 22 days. When have you ever seen the federal government move that fast? […] Twenty-five parents get reported on that snitch line. They all get investigated. FBI shows up at their door. Guess how many have been charged? Zero.”
Todd doubled down on the supposed death threats, but Jordan pointed out that the FBI show of force was to provide a chilling effect for anyone who even thought about challenging leftist orthodoxy at school boards.
And to Jordan’s point, the AG’s office never moves that quickly.
Senior Members of Congress can’t even get the AG to act that fast.
Democrats have a stranglehold on education, and they will do anything to maintain it.
