JD Vance Just Exposed the Fraud That Has Been Making Your Health Care More Expensive for Years

Biden handed fraudsters over $2 billion in taxpayer dollars through Obamacare and dared anyone to check.

JD Vance is now checking.

And JD Vance just exposed the fraud that has been making your health care more expensive for years.

The Scheme Biden Built and Refused to Stop

The setup was simple, and it worked perfectly.

Biden's administration doubled Obamacare enrollment – from 10 million to more than 22 million people – by doing two things simultaneously.

It paid brokers to sign people up.

And it stopped verifying whether those people were actually eligible.

Vance explained exactly what happens when you combine those two ingredients at a White House press conference Tuesday.

"You have a system where, on the one hand, brokers are paid money to feed patients into the system, while on the other hand, the government isn't even checking whether the people enrolled are actually eligible for the program," he said. "What do you have? Of course – rampant, rampant fraud."

That's not speculation.

The Paragon Health Institute – which tracks ACA enrollment data against Census Bureau population estimates – found that approximately 6.2 million exchange sign-ups in 2026 alone were improper.

That is 27 percent of all Obamacare enrollments in a single year.

Some of those people were enrolled without ever knowing it.

Some were collecting Obamacare subsidies while simultaneously on Medicaid.

More than a million of them never provided a Social Security number when they enrolled.

Forty rogue brokers – just 40 individuals – cost taxpayers $45 million through roughly 50,000 fake enrollments.

Vance Is Cutting the Cancers Out

The Trump White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, led by Vance, is now doing what Biden's people refused to do for four years.

They are ending enrollment for 750,000 people believed to be fraudulently on the rolls.

They are running additional verification on 419,000 more – checking legal residency status and income thresholds.

CMS has already cut off 66 agents from the system and plans to terminate 469 more.

A nationwide moratorium on new agents and brokers is in effect.

The total recovered: $2.2 billion.

Vance put that number into human terms.

"The average American child receives about $4,000 in healthcare benefits every single year," he said. "That means that we are saving 550,000 American children's worth of healthcare that was going to fraudsters."

Dr. Mehmet Oz – who runs the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services – added a warning that deserves to be heard.

"Fraud will destroy Obamacare," he said. "You cannot run an insurance business if you have no idea who's coming in. You can't rate how sick they are. You have no idea if they're real."

The Soros Machine Is Trying to Stop the Cleanup

A group the administration believes is funded by George Soros has now successfully sued to block the government from verifying whether Obamacare recipients' incomes actually qualify them for the program.

That group has filed 150 lawsuits against the administration on eligibility-related issues.

And on this one, they won.

Think about what that means.

Obamacare is a program designed for people making between one and four times the poverty line.

A court – at the urging of lawyers bankrolled by a man who made his billions in America – has ruled that the government cannot confirm whether recipients actually fall in that income range.

A billionaire could enroll in Obamacare today and collect taxpayer subsidies.

"I struggle to understand the mindset and the psychology of a person who makes billions of dollars in the greatest country in the history of the world, and decides to use that money not to provide healthcare to people who need it, but to ensure that we're unable to check the eligibility criteria for programs that the American people depend on," Vance said.

This Is Why Your Premiums Are High

Vance explained the mechanism Tuesday, and it is simpler than the experts want you to believe.

When fraudsters drain $2.2 billion from a program, that money is gone – it does not go to sick people, it does not go to preventive care, and it does not reduce anyone's deductible.

It goes to shell companies, fake enrollments, and the brokers running the scheme.

Vance also tied the fraud directly to Biden's inflation crisis – the worst in 48 years.

"We were taking hundreds of billions of dollars from the American taxpayer and we were giving it to a bunch of fraudsters," he said. "We know that printing and spending money like that increases the pressure on inflation."

The Paragon Health Institute estimates improper subsidy payments cost taxpayers up to $25 billion in 2026 alone.

Biden was warned.

He was warned by Republican senators, by conservative think tanks, by his own party – Senator Ron Wyden complained about rogue brokers in 2024 and urged CMS to act.

CMS received more than 275,000 complaints about unauthorized Obamacare enrollments in 2024 and did almost nothing.

Biden kept paying the brokers and kept looking the other way.

Trump and Vance stopped looking the other way.

The fraud is not fixed yet – the Soros lawsuits are still running, and the courts are still blocking basic eligibility checks.

But $2.2 billion is back in American hands, 750,000 phantom enrollees are getting cut, and the people who built this machine are finally being named in public.

That is what accountability looks like.
