Former Tonight Show host Jay Leno stunned fans with his appearance.

The story was even more unbelievable.

And Jay Leno took a scary fall that left him with this gruesome injury.

Jay Leno’s injury

Inside Edition caught Jay Leno on the street and everyone immediately knew something was wrong.

Leno’s face was bruised and he sported an eye patch, which Leno showed covered up his eye, which was swollen shut.

Leno claimed he suffered the injury when he fell down a 60-foot hill while staying at a Hampton Inn prior to a stand-up show.

“I said, ‘Well, the hill doesn’t look that steep,’” he stated, “‘Let me take a–‘”

The 72-year-old Leno didn’t seem too bothered by the injury.

“It’ll be fine,” Leno added. “I’m not worried about it.”

Leno said he ended up on the hill because he wanted to take a shortcut to a burger joint that was nearby because he wanted to save money on a car service.

Leno’s known for watching his money so his explanation made sense to fans.

Despite suffering the fall, Leno still made it to his stand-up show three hours later.

This being America in 2024, conspiracy theories proceeded to run wild on social media.

Social media users sounded skeptical of Leno’s story as no one could believe Leno – who made tens of millions of dollars per year hosting the Tonight Show was slumming it at a Hampton Inn.

“So Jay Leno got set on fire a few years ago, is staying at a Hampton Inn while being worth millions of dollars, with an eye patch, bruised up face, a broken wrist and a missing fingernail. And he wants us to believe he . . . Fell down a hill???” one user on X wrote.

Others joked that Leno must have been in debt to the mob from gambling.

But freak accidents are nothing new for Leno.

In November 2022, Leno suffered burns that required skin grafts after getting caught in a gasoline fire in his garage.

That incident forced Leno to cancel a comedy show.

“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire,” Leno’s statement announcing the accident read. “I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

In 2016, Leno – a noted car enthusiast – was involved in a crash while filming his Leno’s Garage show for CNBC.

“Well, that was certainly exciting. It doesn’t get more exciting than that,” Leno said of the crash.

“I actually do stuff like this every week,” Leno continued. “That’s why I have so many cars. I roll half of them half the time.”
