Jasmine Crockett’s Response to Stephen A Smith’s Invitation to Appear on His Show Tells You Everything About Democrats

Democrats Only Talk When They Control the Room

Smith went public this week with a list that should embarrass every Democrat who claims to stand for accountability.

Jasmine Crockett – crickets.

Kamala Harris – crickets.

Michelle Obama – crickets.

Don Lemon said he wants to talk privately before appearing publicly, which tells you everything about how Democrats now operate.

Smith's point is simple and devastating.

"Every single Republican I have asked to show up on this show has either said yes or that they're coming," Smith said earlier this year.

Not the Democrats.

Crockett Runs From Everyone Who Might Ask a Real Question

This is a woman who called Capitol Police on a CNN journalist who showed up at her office.

This is a woman whose campaign staff labeled an Atlantic reporter a "top-notch hater" and had armed guards escort her off the grounds of a Lubbock rally – leaving her on the edge of a county road.

When that reporter, Elaine Godfrey, asked a few questions in the crowd, a staffer read from her phone: "Elaine from Atlantic, white girl with a hat and notepad. She needs to leave."

Armed guards then escorted her out.

The Atlantic's editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg called the behavior "completely unacceptable" – which is the kind of statement you make when an elected official sends security after your reporter for the crime of attending a public event.

Crockett's response was to question the reporter's credibility.

Democrats who build careers demanding accountability from everyone else apparently believe accountability stops the moment someone asks a question they haven't pre-approved.

The Pattern Has Been Going On for Years

This is not new.

Democrats spent the 2024 campaign cycle hiding from unscripted interviews – requesting questions in advance, sticking to friendlier outlets, and treating any real conversation as a threat to be managed.

Democrats got crushed in November.

And yet the lesson still hasn't landed for Jasmine Crockett, who just lost her Texas Senate primary by more than 140,000 votes and immediately blamed racism.

Not the press avoidance.

Not the armed guards ejecting reporters.

Not the refusal to show up on Stephen A. Smith's couch and answer a simple question.

Racism.

The Democrat Party's national leadership problem – the one Smith has been warning about for two years – runs straight through this kind of behavior.

Smith said in August 2025 that the national voice for the Democrat Party is "non-existent."

He wasn't wrong.

The people who should be speaking aren't talking – and the ones who are only want to do it in rooms they control, with journalists they've already vetted.

The Republicans Showed Up

Smith sat down with Ted Cruz at SiriusXM headquarters in November 2025.

Republicans answer the phone.

Democrats demand pre-submitted questions, request private meetings before public ones, and send armed security after reporters who show up uninvited.

That is not a party with a messaging problem.

That is a party that cannot answer questions.

Smith has been one of the most visible critics of the Democrat Party from the Left – calling their 2024 performance "pathetic," saying the left "ravaged our nation," and warning publicly that the party lacks any national leadership.

And even he can't get Jasmine Crockett to return a call.

If Democrats won't talk to Stephen A. Smith, they're not going to talk to you either.
