The House of Representatives voted to censure Omar’s fellow “Squad” member Rashida Tlaib over her anti-Semitic comments in support of Hamas.
22 Democrats joined all but four Republicans in voting to censure Tlaib for her bigoted remarks.
The House passed the censure resolution following a debate on the House floor where an enraged Ilhan Omar claimed she stood with the Palestinians in their quest for “liberation.”

Omar also ranted and raved about Republicans supporting military operations to destroy Hamas, as the October 7 terrorist attacks showed Hamas never had any intention of living in peace.
“Nobody condemned him on that side of the aisle! What is true here is that every single one of them has not acknowledged that Palestinians are dying in the tens of thousands, but will continue to say it is us who are not acknowledging humanity! Rashida will stand strong and the Palestinian movement will continue for liberation until every single Palestinian has the right to live in liberty!” Omar raged.
Party leaders gave the ok to censure Tlaib because of rhetoric like that of Ilhan Omar.
National Democrats don’t want the public face of the Democrat Party to be Hamas supporters.
But the Democrat Party base never takes betrayal well.
And some political observers are wondering if the war against Hamas will split the party the way LBJ’s support for the Vietnam War fractured the Democrats in the 1968 election.
