Ilhan Omar spent years building her reputation on hating Israel.
This week she confused one Jewish man for another and accused him of a vote she cast herself.
Now the whole country is watching two Squad members explain why they can't tell Jewish politicians apart.
Summer Lee Confused Two Jewish Men Named Josh
Representative Summer Lee fired the first shot.
After Representative Josh Gottheimer called out the Democratic Socialists of America for trying to hijack the Democrat Party, Lee attacked him on social media, accusing him of being among the Democrats who "sign bombs and vote to drop them."
One problem.
The Democrat who signed bombs was Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro – not Gottheimer.
Shapiro signed an artillery shell during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's 2024 visit to Pennsylvania as part of a Ukraine military aid event – an event that had nothing to do with Israel.
Gottheimer's response was ten words: "You know that's the other Jewish guy named Josh, right?"
Omar Jumped In and Made It Worse
Ilhan Omar rushed to Lee's defense – and immediately stepped on the same landmine.
"He signed the bombs you voted to be dropped," Omar posted.

Community notes corrected her within hours.
Omar had doubled down on Lee's original mistake rather than correct it – treating two different men, two different conflicts, and two different events as interchangeable.
Then Gottheimer did something brutal.
He pulled up the official House roll call for H.R. 8035 – the $60.8 billion Ukraine aid package passed in April 2024 – and posted it with a single line: "Ilhan, you know who else voted for it? You."
Lee voted for the same bill.
Both lawmakers had funded the very operation they were using to attack Gottheimer – and neither caught it before posting.
This Is What the Squad Does Now
This exchange did not happen in isolation.
Gottheimer has spent months making the case that his party applies one standard to antisemitism on the right and no standard at all when it surfaces on the left – what he called a "glaring double standard" in a May New York Times opinion piece.

Three weeks ago he was among 15 Democrats who signed a "Promise to America" pledge declaring "we are capitalist, not socialist" – a direct challenge to DSA-aligned members gaining seats inside the party.
He has called the DSA's growing influence "a growing cancer" the party cannot ignore.
The Squad's answer was to misidentify him as a different Jewish man and accuse him of something he never did.
That tells you everything about where the Democrat Party is right now.
The Democrats Who Voted to Cut Israel Aid
The exchange also exposed something the party would rather keep quiet.
Lee and Omar were among 103 Democrats who voted last week for a Thomas Massie amendment that would have stripped $3.3 billion in foreign military financing and blocked any of those funds from reaching Israel.
Gottheimer voted against it.
The Squad's war on Israel is not a talking point – it is a voting record.

The Squad just handed Gottheimer the perfect illustration of everything he has been warning about.
Two congresswomen who built careers attacking Israel couldn't identify which Jewish man they were targeting – and got caught funding the exact operation they tried to weaponize against him.
That is not a gaffe.
That is the Squad at full capacity.
And every time they open their mouths, they make the case for why the people who saw this coming three years ago were right.
