Jake Tapper spent years telling America that Joe Biden was sharp enough to run the country.
Now the man whose family believed that arrangement just called him a lousy journalist on live television.
Hunter Biden looked directly into the camera and said exactly what he thinks of CNN's most famous anchor – and it wasn't polite.

Hunter Biden appeared on Don Lemon's podcast Wednesday and was asked a simple question: Was he friends with Jake Tapper?
"No," Hunter said – then noted he had known Tapper for 25 years anyway.
When Lemon asked about Original Sin, Tapper's 2025 book exposing the Biden White House's cover-up of Joe Biden's mental collapse, Hunter unloaded.
"Jake is a complete and utter a**hole," he said.
He kept going.
"I think that he is a really poor journalist. And beyond that, I don't think he's a very decent human being. As a person, I don't like Jake," he said.
He wasn't finished.
"I think he's full of f****** s***. That's what I think," he said.
Hunter then stared straight into the camera.
"Jake, I do not like you. I don't like you at all. And I have a whole host of reasons why. And that's final," he said.
The Part Nobody Is Talking About
Here's what makes this more than just a family meltdown – it's a confession.
Jake Tapper spent years covering for the Biden family.
In 2020, when the New York Post broke the Hunter Biden laptop story, Tapper dismissed the entire thing as "too disgusting to even repeat" and told his audience "the rightwing is going crazy."
He killed the story on national television while Americans were voting.
In 2023, Tapper was still insisting Biden was "sharp mentally" – his words – with concerns being "more physical" than cognitive.
He cut short a 2020 interview the moment Lara Trump raised Biden's cognitive decline, telling her she had "absolutely no standing to diagnose" the president.
Then the June 2024 debate happened.

The whole cover-up collapsed.
Tapper responded the way any good opportunist would – he wrote a book about the cover-up he participated in.
Original Sin debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list.
It sold 54,000 copies in its first week.
Tapper did interviews everywhere.
His CNN ratings dropped 25% anyway, hitting their lowest point since August 2015.
Why Hunter's Meltdown Actually Proves Tapper Right
But Hunter's rage proves something his lawyers probably wish he'd considered before hitting record: the book is accurate.
If Original Sin were fiction – if Tapper had invented the cover-up, fabricated the cognitive decline, made up the part where Biden's own Cabinet was being deceived – Hunter wouldn't be going on podcasts calling him names.
You don't spend 25 years knowing someone, track their ratings publicly, and stare into cameras with personal grudges over lies.
Hunter Biden is furious because the book told the truth about his family – and his family spent years counting on Jake Tapper to make sure that truth never came out.

That arrangement held until Trump won and Tapper needed something new to sell.
Joe Biden put it plainly in May 2025 when a reporter asked about the book.
"You can see that I'm mentally incompetent, I can't walk – and I can beat the hell out of both of them," Biden said while smirking.
And Hunter Biden is on Don Lemon's podcast – which is where CNN journalists go after CNN is done with them – calling everyone names.
