Raquel Welch got her big break in the 1960s after starring in One Million Years B.C.

She became a star and Hollywood sex symbol after Fantastic Voyage.

Now sadly, Hollywood icon and movie star Raquel Welch passed away this week leaving fans stunned.

It seems with each passing day another star from Hollywood’s best days passes away.

The most beautiful woman on the planet

Actress Raquel Welch has passed away her representatives have confirmed.

Welch was 82.

Her representative Steve Sauer said, “Raquel Welch, the legendary bombshell actress of film, television and stage, passed away peacefully early this morning after a brief illness. The 82-year-old actress burst into Hollywood in her initial roles in One Million [Years] B.C. and Fantastic Voyage.”

Sauer continued, “Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances. The Golden Globe winner, in more recent years, was involved in a very successful line of wigs. Raquel leaves behind her two children, son Damon Welch and her daughter, Tahnee Welch.”

Fox News’ Neil Cavuto gave tribute to Welch saying, “Men ogled her, fellow stars clamored to be in movies with her – a lot of movies. From Fantastic Voyage to Bedazzled to One Million Years B.C. and The Three Musketeers, which personified pretty much her sense of humor. But Welch personified something else – beauty, and she knew it. TIME Magazine once called her the most beautiful woman on the planet, Empire Magazine one of the 100 sexiest stars in film history, and TMZ one of the most sought after female stars throughout the 1960s and 70s.”

Co-star to the top leading men

Welch starred alongside some of Hollywood’s leading men throughout her career, including Charleton Heston, Frank Sinatra, Robert Wagner, James Stewart, Dean Martin, and Burt Reynolds.

Though they never appeared in a film together John Wayne was particularly fond of Welch and even did charity work with her and made an appearance on her hit TV show Raquel!

John Wayne’s estate posted a picture of Duke in a cowboy hat with Raquel on a horse, plus footage of them doing charity work in Mexico.

The posts read: “Rest in peace Raquel Welch, you will be dearly missed.
