Ben and Erin Napier became stars for their work on the HGTV hit Home Town.

Now they’re back to tackle another challenge, but their biggest obstacle isn’t on TV.

And HGTV’s Ben and Erin Napier revealed the worst problem they dealt with for their new show.

Ben and Erin Napier’s life became complicated after they became stars

The husband and wife team of Ben and Erin Napier became breakout stars during the first season of HGTV’s Home Town in 2016.

Now they’re working on the spin-off series Home Town Takeover, where their projects only get bigger as they makeover an entire community.

Season three of the series is filming in Sebring, Florida.

The couple is traveling back and forth between their home in Laurel, Mississippi, and Florida for the show.

Now they have to balance life with a young family with their daughters Mae, who’s 3, and Helen, who’s 6, while they navigate a career on TV.

The Napiers talked with People Magazine about how they’ve tried to manage their work-life balance.

“Season 1 nearly killed us, it was the hardest thing we had ever done,” Erin said about the inaugural Home Town Takeover season set in Wetumpka, Alabama.

The young couple had a lot on their plate during the filming.

“I was pregnant, and we had a toddler, and it was COVID and we didn’t know anybody,” Erin added. “But now, our girls are 6 and 3 and we have a little more freedom to bring them — they’ve been here with us every step of it.”

Their daughters took advantage of filming this season of Home Town Takeover in Florida.

“Their life here was totally different from our life here,” Ben said. “They’re on vacation, they’ve been swimming every day.”

Working in sunny Florida feels like a vacation for the family.

“They swim and fish and take field trips to the orange grove,” Erin said. “This is a dream for them. We’ve had summer vacation feelings the whole time, even though we’re working harder than we’ve ever worked in our lives.”

Ben and Erin Napier talk about juggling this season of the show and their family

In this season of Home Town Takeover, the couple is renovating homes, businesses, and the town square in Sebring.

And they have two children and the other businesses.

Erin Napier said they couldn’t do it without the support of their families.

“There’s no way you do this without an army of support at home and here,” Erin explained.

“We bring one of our moms every time we come,” Ben added.

“And our moms don’t hate it either,” Erin added with a grin.

Erin Napier said their daughters are always close by when they’re working.

“Mae likes projects! She wants to get in there, but she’s only 3,” Erin joked. “Helen just likes to observe. She’s a mama’s girl, she wants to be wherever I am, so she’s watching. Then, she’ll get in the car and ask a lot of questions, talk about things she thought were pretty.”

She added that their priority will always be their family.

“We have to have our priorities, and our first priority is what will be when there is no TV, and what was there before there was TV, and that’s me and Ben and the girls. So, that’s the priority,” Erin explained.

Ben and Erin Napier’s classic small-town values helped them balance their family life with a career on TV.
