The Star Tribune called him a "bald soccer dad" who had become an "unlikely activist."
Two days later he assaulted a female journalist on a public street outside a Minneapolis ICE facility.
Now Harmeet Dhillon says the DOJ is on it – and the Hennepin County Sheriff is already charging three people.
The Antifa Protester the Star Tribune Called a Regular Guy
His name is Chris Ostroushko.
He goes by "Minnesota Angry Man" on social media, and the Star Tribune ran a glowing profile calling him an "unlikely activist" who just wanted to "stand up for community."
The Bulwark podcast – the Never Trump crowd's flagship show – put him on as a feel-good story about a regular guy who cares.
What the cameras caught Saturday outside the Whipple ICE facility was something else entirely.
Savanah Hernandez was standing on a public street filming the protest when Ostroushko lunged at her from behind and shoved her to the ground with enough force that she woke up the next morning with a headache and a stiff neck.
His daughter came at Hernandez first, swinging.
His wife followed when the daughter claimed Hernandez had hit her.
The whole family was screaming obscenities in her face before Ostroushko made his move.
That's the "regular guy" the legacy media celebrated.
Inside the Anti-ICE Protest That Turned Into an Assault on a Journalist
The crowd outside Whipple came prepared.
Organizers distributed plastic bags full of dildos – protesters lined the fence with them and slammed them against the barriers while chanting "F*** ICE Day."
A man named William Scott Kelly – the same man who was arrested storming a St. Paul church in January – spotted Hernandez at the fence and identified her to the crowd.
From that moment, she was a target.
Several protesters were chanting "We are ANTIFA" as they closed in.
Hernandez posted afterward: "Multiple people swung on me and a grown man pushed me to the ground. My glasses are broken. ANTIFA still alive and well."
This was the second time she has been mobbed and assaulted while filming a protest in the United States.
Since Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10th, the organized infrastructure of left-wing political violence has become impossible to ignore – and what happened outside Whipple on Saturday is exactly what that infrastructure looks like in operation.
FBI Opens Criminal Investigation After Dhillon Says She Is On It
Hernandez tracked down names and posted them publicly.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office confirmed four people would be charged – three of them tied directly to the assault on Hernandez.
Then Dhillon stepped in.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon responded to Hernandez on X with two words: "On it."
That's not a statement of sympathy.
That's the DOJ signaling a federal criminal investigation into a coordinated assault on a journalist – and a signal to every Antifa protester in Minneapolis that the FBI is now watching.
Dhillon used identical language in January when Kelly and his crew stormed the St. Paul church – and arrests followed within days.

Minneapolis Has Been Letting Antifa Attack Conservative Journalists All Year
This was not the first time.
In January, independent journalists Cam Higby and Nick Sortor had their car windows smashed and their vehicle surrounded by a mob at the same location.
Fifty-four people were arrested at a prior demonstration after hurling rocks at Minneapolis police officers.
The city that let rioters burn a police precinct in 2020 has never rebuilt the political will to hold the left accountable for violence.
Which is exactly why Dhillon's involvement matters.
When local prosecutors decide that protecting Antifa is more important than enforcing the law, the DOJ has jurisdiction – and this administration has shown it will use it.
Hernandez didn't go home and wait for someone else to fix it.
She filed charges, pushed until the sheriff's office confirmed prosecution – and now the federal government is standing behind her.
The Star Tribune can write all the profiles it wants about "regular guys" who snapped.
The DOJ has a different word for a man who lunges at a female journalist from behind while his family holds her in place.
