Hakeem Jeffries Just Told America Exactly What Democrats Will Do to the Supreme Court

Hakeem Jeffries stood before a room full of journalists in Atlanta on Thursday and said "dramatic Supreme Court reform is necessary."

Now he has named the man who will lead it.

And the Democrats’ plan for the Supreme Court is further along than most conservatives realize.

Jeffries Drops the Mask on the Democratic Agenda

Jeffries told the National Association of Black Journalists that everything is on the table – term limits, expanding the number of justices, rewriting how the Court takes cases.

He called the conservative majority "basically a subsidiary of the MAGA Republican Party."

Then he named his guy: Jamie Raskin.

Raskin – the Maryland congressman and ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee – has already published the blueprint.

Add four new justices to the bench.

Strip the Court of control over its own docket.

Transfer initial case reviews to a rotating panel of federal judges Democrats could pack with allies.

If a Democrat president fills all four seats, the Court flips from a 6-3 conservative majority to a 7-6 liberal majority overnight.

That is a coup against the judicial branch dressed up as reform.

The Plan FDR Could Not Pull Off

Here is the history Democrats do not want you to remember.

Franklin Roosevelt felt unstoppable after winning 46 of 48 states in 1936.

When the Supreme Court kept striking down his New Deal overreach, he moved to add six new justices – stacking the bench with loyalists who would rubber-stamp his agenda.

His own Democrat Senate killed it 70 to 20.

Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes publicly humiliated him, sending Congress a letter explaining that more justices would "impair" the Court's efficiency and create institutional chaos.

Even Roosevelt's most loyal allies recognized a naked power grab when they saw one.

Sen. Chuck Grassley put it plainly last month: "Democrats clearly need a history lesson – court packing was a bad idea in 1937, and it's a bad idea in 2026."

Now Jeffries is betting he can succeed where FDR failed, with Raskin running point.

The November Stakes Nobody Is Explaining to You

Democrats flip the House – Jeffries becomes Speaker.

Raskin chairs the House Judiciary Committee.

Raskin introduces the bill to expand the Court to 13 justices.

Senate Democrats kill the filibuster.

A Democrat president fills four new seats.

Every ruling that reaffirmed immigration enforcement, expanded presidential authority, and protected your right to keep and bear arms – reversed.

Replaced by outcomes the progressive left has been demanding for years.

Sen. John Cornyn said it directly: "Our Democrat colleagues don't want to keep losing cases in the courtroom, so they've adopted a new strategy – if you can't win the game, change the rules."

Republicans have already introduced a constitutional amendment – House Joint Resolution 1 – to lock the Court permanently at nine justices.

It passed the House Judiciary Committee on a party-line vote.

Democrats voted against it unanimously.

They know exactly what they're planning.

What Jeffries Is Actually Promising You

The Supreme Court has operated with nine justices since 1869 – through two World Wars, the Civil Rights movement, and the Cold War.

It has endured because it is independent.

Pack it to deliver political outcomes and you do not have a Supreme Court anymore.

You have a third legislative chamber in robes that rules on command.

Jeffries walked into a room on Thursday and told you what a Democrat House majority means for every constitutional protection you have left.

The only thing standing between his plan and the bench is November.
