Greg Gutfeld mocks the latest setback for MSNBC
MSNBC’s ratings have been in free fall since Vice President Kamala Harris went down in flames to defeat.
The misery for the crew at MSNBC continued when Comcast announced that it was going to spin off its cable channels including MSNBC and CNBC.
Cable is a dying business and Comcast is getting rid of dead weight to focus on streaming and its Internet service business.
MSNBC faces an uncertain future after it changes ownership after being spun off.
The name of the cable news network is likely to change because it will no longer have a connection to NBC News.
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld mocked MSNBC for its string of setbacks since the election on his show Gutfeld!.
He called MSNBC the “Must Sell Network Before Christmas” because it was dumped by Comcast.
“These days, MSNBC has come to stand for ‘must sell network before Christmas.’ Their post-election ratings are down 54 percent, that’s 50% more than my body fat, Walter,” Gutfeld began. “Hell, Brit Hume’s laxative reviews on YouTube have more viewers.”
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow reportedly took a pay cut after Comcast decided to rid itself of the network.
“So they have slashed their budgets so low, Joy Reid had to replace her toupe to pay with a cocktail napkin,” Gutfeld joked. “But don’t feel bad!”
MSNBC landed itself in hot water for a headline on its website that portrayed the illegal alien from Venezuela who murdered Georgia nursing student Laken Riley as the victim.
“Check out this headline that their website dropped today. Quote, Laken Riley’s killer never stood a chance. Now that can’t be an accident,” Gutfeld said. “If you ask me, it’s suicide by the headline. What better way to kill off the rest of the network than to drop one of the most repulsive headlines of all time. MSNBC did finally change it, but the damage was already done.”
Gutfeld lampoons Rachel Maddow’s pay cut
Maddow, the face of MSNBC, had her pay slashed by $5 million by the left-wing cable news network.
“Meanwhile, a salary has been slashed by $5 million a year,” Gutfeld stated. “It sounds like a lot except she was making $30 million a year for one show a week. So if she does 50 shows a year, her pay went from $600,000 an episode to $500,000. That is like five dollars per viewer.”
Gutfeld slammed Maddow for being paid a fortune and not being able to get anyone interested in watching MSNBC.
“So what’s next for MSNBC?” Gutfeld asked. “They will try to redefine themselves as a start-up. But that is impossible because the product is nothing new and it is hopelessly contaminated. It is radioactive.”
The bad news keeps piling up with no end in sight for MSNBC since the election.
