Greg Abbott Shut Down a Muslims Only Water Park Event Before It Could Even Open Its Doors

A government-owned water park in Texas put up a "Muslims only" sign and told everyone else to stay home.

Abbott saw it and gave the city one deadline.

The sign is gone.

Abbott Used HB 4211 Like a Sledgehammer

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark in Grand Prairie is owned by the city.

Taxpayers – every faith, every background – fund that facility.

Someone decided it was appropriate to advertise a June 1 Eid celebration there as "Muslims only."

Abbott moved immediately.

"A city-owned water park in Grand Prairie openly advertised a 'MUSLIMS ONLY' event – closed to the general public," he wrote on X. "That's religious discrimination. It's unconstitutional."

Then came the consequence.

Grand Prairie had until May 11 to cancel the event and commit to never allowing something like it again – or lose $530,000 in state grants.

The city canceled before the ink dried.

"After further review and in the best interest of the City of Grand Prairie, the June 1 Eid event at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark has been canceled," the city announced.

The Left's "Separate But Equal" Problem

Organizer Aminah Knight tried to reframe the event after the backlash hit.

She updated her materials to say it was a "modest dress-only event, centered around a respectful and family-friendly environment."

That's not what the flyer said.

Here's what Abbott wrote to Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen – and it's the kind of moral clarity that makes the left's heads explode.

"An event at a city-owned pool that was publicly and indiscriminately advertised as 'Whites only' would surely violate the Constitution."

"The same must be true here."

He's right, and every honest person in America knows it.

The same people who would burn a city down over a "Whites only" sign at a public facility went completely silent when the sign said "Muslims only."

That's not tolerance.

That's a double standard dressed up as inclusion.

This Is Exactly What HB 4211 Was Built For

Abbott signed HB 4211 into law specifically to ban Muslim-only no-go zones in Texas.

It just got tested for the first time.

Grand Prairie learned in real time what it costs to let a private event organizer turn a public asset into a religiously exclusive venue.

America has watched European cities cede public spaces to religious exclusivity and call it multiculturalism.

Entire neighborhoods in the UK, France, and Germany have become functionally off-limits to non-Muslims – tolerated by governments, celebrated by academics, ignored by the press.

Abbott drew a line and said: not here.

Not in Texas.

Not with Texas taxpayer money.

The sign said "Muslims only."

Now it says nothing at all.
