New York City is a raging dumpster fire after years of Democrat control.
Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul has been pushing New York City policies on the entire Empire State.
And Governor Kathy Hochul had Daniel Penny shaking his head in disbelief with this surprising announcement about the New York City Subway.
New York City has long been a bastion of left-wing politics and culture in America.
But years of far-Left Democrat policies have turned New York City into a wasteland of crime, homelessness, and drug abuse.
More than 100,000 illegal aliens have also landed in New York City in order to take advantage of the sanctuary law that gives them free housing, free food, free healthcare, and free preloaded debit cards.
Many of these illegal aliens are violent criminals and hardened drug dealers.
The massive influx of illegal aliens – combined with Soros-backed prosecutors implementing pro-criminal policies – crime is now a major problem for residents in New York City.
It’s turned the New York City Subway System into a dangerous place for people to be.
In 2023, assaults reached an all-time high in the transit system.
And it’s been bad this year as well.
“But nine people have been killed in the subway system so far this year, up 80% from the five who were killed by this time last year,” MSN reported. “Five rapes have been reported, one more than this time last year.”
However, in a surprising twist, Governor Hochul just deployed an additional 250 National Guard troops to patrol the Subway System.
“It’s clear to me, as I’ve heard from many people, that the presence of the National Guard has made not just a physical difference, but a psychological difference in how they feel about safety,” Hochul told reporters at a press conference at the Grand Central subway station.
The state initially deployed 750 Guardsmen in March to try and get a handle on the rising crime rates.
And the data shows that it’s working, something anti-police politicians like Ocasio-Cortez hate to see.
According to NYPD data, subway crimes – including rapes, murders, and robberies – are down 2.6% overall since 2022.
Hochul also announced that 100% of subway cars are now equipped with cameras.
She said it’s all about using fear to control the people.
“Fear is a really powerful emotion,” Hochul said. “When someone sees an individual, one of these trained professionals, standing there, I can tell you — as a mom and as someone who talks to a lot of people around here — they feel better knowing there’s a strong, solid presence that’s going to protect them.”
“This is about a presence,” she continued. “But if there’s a problem, I guarantee they know how to handle it.”
Of course, Hochul knows how to use fear all too well.
She was one of the most draconian Governors in America during the COVID panic.
But at least now she’s cracking down on real criminals and not “anti-science” Americans.
